All rain here so far, the good news is we've had some lightning in the channel, no audible thunder yet though.

Hail and sleetiness in the heaviest of the shower that just passed through here :)

Oh yes today marks my third year since I signed up to be a member on here time flies. :)

Been a throughly wet evening...constant trails of showers moving in from the west, quite horrible for it to be cold but not cold enough, this precipitation will not be kicking about when better parameters creep in, you just know it. Precip is turning wintry to N/W.

Mostly fine and sunny until the late afternoon here. It did feel chilly outside though there wasn't a frost here to start.

As for the next few days, my thinking about late Thursday and Saturday offering chances for snow for our region still stands if strengthens in potential in my view.

Although I would normally love snow around, I have an appointment in Canterbury on friday, which I shouldn't really miss, not sure it's worth the risk of traveling though. Might get stranded.

REALLY hope we get SOME snow out of this spell....it just always seems to be modelled at around 120h but never get any nearer!!!

This time last week there was potential for today, then Thurs then the weekend etc and now it's potentially Monday.....

I'm keeping the faith that the cold is here and some random fronts could pop up and surprise us!!x

Just had the first bit of lightning close enough to hear rumble, sounds high based I think.

woke up and looked at the radar, showed all precip moving towards me as pink, when it arrived around half an hour ago, it started as rain, now a real wintry mix, rain sleet wet snow back to rain, back to snow, seems conditions are very marginal, fingers crossed for it to turn more snowy this evening x

Fingers  crossed for this evening, but it's more in hope than expectation. Temperatures will have to drop a few degrees.

That's going to be hellish then! Off to college in Grays today near the thames and it's always blowing a gale. Looking at wind chill it's going to feel -5c later this evening on the walk home :cold-emoji:

Not unexpected for those who look at predicted PPN on METO.

Norfolk and Suffolk later this afternoon look good for some falling snow for a few hours.

Lots of ifs and buts..

Anyone east of that black line a mix of sleet and snow as warmer air due to higher SSTs mixes in anyone west of the black line should see snow..

EURO 4 agrees but has the ppn MUCH further East GFS agrees with the EURO4

Precipitation EURO4 Th 14.01.2016 21 GMTPrecipitation GFS 0.25 Th 14.01.2016 21 GMT

WRF the best pick of the bunch...

WRF also illustrates well the warmer air..
