Incredible wind/rain and hail here this morning. Neighbours fence blown down, wheelie bins toppled over, and not even a yellow warning!

The 06z GFS showed some parts of Ireland getting close to 48 hours of continuous snowfall this weekend. Shall be interesting to see if the 12z follows that theme.

Which parts Born, more south and East?

The 12z has it for 36 hours for many areas north of Clare to Wexford, which means north of me too:(

To be fair, if it comes close to what it's showing, any part of the country could get some decent falls. Could be a proper battleground scenario with a front stalling across the island.

Wet and windy the end of the week and no colder than 6c during the day the bbc weather must have different charts than what we are seeing.

And the only mention of snow was for tonight & Morning  for the hills.

Heavy snow the last 15 minutes (still going) has given a surprise covering here.

Wasn't aware that snow was expected down the country today. Happy days! Radar seems very good for West Mayo/Roscommon at the minute. Any reports from that area?

Gurteen to the north of here is reporting rain on the latest update at 2C. It's just 1.1C here, so hopefully things will be different when the showers arrive in 30 mins or so.

A beautiful dry day,  many of the locals are staring up in wonder at the yellow shaped circular thing in the sky,  what is it they ask, is this the mythical sun our ancients spoke about...

Well, Pom, if I ever start seeing things that are 'yellow shaped', I'll consider getting myself sectioned.

The combination of sunshine and light winds have been so rare this winter. Not one of those cold, calm frosty spells that usually occur.

Band of ppn moving in from the west across Ulster. Could it give snow for us further inland? We'll find out shortly.

Roll on Spring and summer is all I can say. Once again I'm sick of this sorry ass excuse of a winter! It's just ridiculous trying to get decent snow in the uk. Had enough now. Want warmer temps and longer days back ASAP!
