some lively radar echos through parts of the midlands at the moment moving north quite quickly I think but I cannot tell

 

how fast are these cells moving

Interesting developments to the south as well, heading up to Derby.

Although saying that the sky is literally cloudless, which I guess signifies a strong inversion?

How odd rain alarm has just gone off and shows rain over Bristol yet it is bone dry here sunny and humid.Hoping for something here today could do with a good storm after the week I have had.

Not Derbyshire again please! Some sun here this afternoon, have seen a few Cu but still seems to be an awful lot of flat stratogunk around. And temperature not really seeming to climb despite the sun. Convection just never seems to get going in this area.

Good sign. There are cells immediately south of Leeds - no thunder here but has gone very dark.

 

And now it's raining.. big convective drops..
