Just had a strike to north here and heaved it down again. Going to bed now, think that's as good as we're gonna get here.

Best crash another cig and look east again, love a bit of unexpected lightning flashes especially after 4 pints at the local and wondering wether someone is taking flash-photography at 12:15 in the morning

Meto had all this lot moving NE into the midlands and Newcastle by 5am, linking up with the LP off the irish coast, looks to be heading straight into the north sea going off the current RADAR

I agree Snow Joke apart from distant flashes that I can't even see it will be a quiet night for many, bar the SE.

In Cambridge, storm going on for nearly hour and a half now. Looks like what is called an elevated storm, but with the odd cg strike. Looks like we're up for another round shortly. Daughter up with us watching and learning. :-)

Wow, not a good move to chase tonight! Got caught in the core on a country road and only just made it out - torrential rain and roads totally flooded. Worst rain I've seen for a few years. Now in Royston, with big rumbling thunder. Seen some tasty lightning, but didn't manage to film as I was more concerned with keeping the engine going!

When you live in the north this is how things are viewed.

Oi do not Associate my home town of Portsmouth with that little village of London

Right I'm going to call it a night. It looks like it's going to be a quiet night for my area, and I'm shattered. I'll leave the window open in the off-chance that something does blow up here. Goodnight all, and enjoy your storms in Cambridge! :)

Well my eyes are not deceiving me

Viewing from Chesterfield,  I can see distant flashes or the sky light up, whichever way you want to put it, which I assume are from the storms around Cambridge which must be 115 miles away...wow :)

Anyone living around here in North Derbyshire, go out and have a look

I can now see very distant flickers to my East Odd Spot, thought it was my eyes at first.Well found my friend. The wife is now panicking as she hates srorms

Yes, just spotted that myself. Looks interesting. I agree with your earlier post aswell, the sky is definately looking folded, and the clouds are churning....

Just when you're off then you're not...NW skyline towards London/N London is almost continual flashing...thought I'd seen it all two weeks ago. Must easily be 40-50 strokes per minute from that portion of the line of storms alone. Sadly no camera I have will pick it up. Absolutely nuts!! Defo off to bed now, despite the draw of the insanely frequently flashing.

Really interesting this one, does also seem really elevated. Not often I see storms like this.

Ill give it another hour until I expect to see a more northerly movement with these storms, if not i'll be heading to la la land myself ahead of tomorrow's RIAT airshow.

For some tonight it has been a stunner, I'm rather disappointed myself. I expected more widespread action. I must say tonight did not have that 'feel' think some longevity to this plume would have done it more justice.,
