I've just measured the track with a ruler against the radar, and it currently looks like it will go SLIGHTLY west of here. That is good though, because I can go into the garden watch the clouds and hear the thunder without getting drenched.

Sounds like my type of luck haha. Always when I go on holiday I get the reports of my family raving over a big storm, almost taunting me lol.

That is the main reason why I always go to the Balearics in September! As I've always seen at least a couple of belters each time I've gone out there at that time!

Do you know Formentera? It's a beautiful island close to Ibiza. Went there some years ago in September for a week and had decent storms 3 nights out of 7, quite a nice surprise!

This is what I've got above me at the moment. Some nice initiation. Reports of thunder heard in Suffolk.

Nothing showing on real-time lightning map for Suffolk.

Evening all, there's some great stuff going on overhead at the moment, some beautiful early-forming thunder clouds, just a few drops of rain but already a few thunder claps and flashes of lightning. Clouds getting darker and darker. It's going to be a good night for you thunder lovers around my area, I feel!

Nice to see the updraft towers appearing, slight increase in wind now as it was calm about 10 mins ago. Feeling distinctly cooler.

Activity dropping off that IoW cell, or so it appears to me anyway.

Getting nearer the time of proper initiation now so if she's going to blow, it'll be in the next 1-2 hours I suggest

Keep the great pics coming guys - beautiful images.

Not often you see such a fine example of an elevated cell...usually they are surrounded in murk or as the Sherminator dubs cluster-procreation. I'd suggest an extremely rare sight around these shores indeed.

In foreign news, cell about 100 miles south of Paris blooming in fine style, along with others along a pronounced trough(?) stretching well over a 1,500 miles down into North Africa.

You can see the tower!post-22340-0-81054600-1437078690_thumb.j

I'm listening to 'Hello' by Above and Beyond. So I didn't hear the thunder but I think this tune set it off!
