Balmy day here at Beadnell , Bolumer weather station down the road reporting 23.5 deg at 2pm - differences in temperature amazing when wind alternating between onshore and offshore during afternoon.

Thunderplumps running up the Cleveland Hills/A19 now.
Almost continual rumbling here, but they are well to the west - in fact sun is still out so far.
If the development continues East Durham looks in line.

They are getting dramatically stronger and larger at the moment - still to our west where I guess it's warmer.

Quite a violent rainstorm with more than 7mm in about 15 minutes and plenty of lightning.
It was always more to the west of here though.
Some places around Yarm have had 15mm

Yes Boro Snow, a delightfully clear day here too in Newcastle. And it's still wall to wall sunshine now too.

The forecast going forward looks decidedly miserable for the next few days though, with lots of cloud around and very little in the way of brightness.

So I'm off out into the garden to make the most of this fine settled day.

It's still a bit of a shock when it starts getting dark soon after 8pm though.
But wonderful clear blue sky most of the day with a vaguely northerly flow.

It touched 18C at 5pm but tumbled away dramatically as the sun set, 10C now.

Brightening up here now, but has been very grey with wind a bit more in the NE so far - and 13.2C
It is a bit concerning later this week seems to have a hint of easterly which is never good this side.

Mainly sunny since about 2pm and very little wind but the odd waft from the NE still held temp down to 15.9C, cooling quicker this evening, it only got down to 7.7 last night but could well be lower tonight.
