I must get some sleep soon but I cannot stress it enough, look at the attached image on this link from earlier by Flipflop and ask yourself whether you should stay up? Hmmm.

Why the hell not if you are due North of that beast. A few hours of fun to be had yet if you're in its sights. WATCH THOSE NIGHT SKIES.

Lightning starting up again to the east of here. God damn if I was 10-20 miles eastwards I would probably be in the thick of it. As per usual though there seems to be a protective dome system over this village whereby all lightning is diverted both east and west.

Can anyone actually remember seeing such a widespread area of storms hitting the UK? Still ongoing for sure big time.

Maybe late 1990s, early 2000's - this still doesn't compare to those MCS imports we used to get. They lasted all night long, constant lightning and booming thunder. These are all single cells, and not that severe in nature.

Well I drove on the most horrendous conditions on the m4 and I'm completely gutted I didn't have the gopro running on the dash. Unbelievable light show. Didn't manage to catch that much footage but as this was my 1st time chasing I think I've learnt a little.

Absolutely amazing radar imagery. Some of you guys are in for it!

That's me done now. Time to return home.

Still thinking this system now too far east for a Stoke direct hit :-(

Isle of man could do well out of that storm off the welsh coast.

Got my eye on that stuff moving out of Cardiff. Along shot but I'll track it just in case then go bed if it peters out. The NE Mids are in for a belter.

I can still see lightning, despite the fact that the nearest cell must be slightly north of London. The cloud structures are really nice to see every now and then

Plenty of lightning here still which seems tone coming from that storm which originated in Dorset. Should

Ensure a nice Lightning show for Some time To come.
