Disappointed at the moment, had some heavy rain, but it comes in 10 minute bursts, then the sun comes out, then back to square 1 a few minutes later, was hoping for fireworks, even estofex have the south east on a level 2

Raining steadily now.. Nothing out of the ordinary! Just a normal wet day.

Looks as though a few hours of steady rain then it should begin to subside! Thank god.

Looking forward to having the dry weather back over the weekend!

Estofex have gone down in my ratings this year this has not been the only time, when it struggles to reach 18C and you're under a blanket of thick low cloud you just know it isn't a conducive environment for T'storms.

Pretty dreich up here. Non-stop heavy rain has now given-way to something closer to drizzle. Slate gray skies and a bitter NE wind.

Looking at the rader, from an imby perspective, its looking like thats it,as said in my previous post,im hugely disappointed, when i saw the level 2 warning,i really thought i'd have some end of summer thunder finale, but no its not meant to be,hopefully winter will deliver a lot of the white stuff

Finally the weather catches up with the forecast. That's what you call a wet afternoon!

Steady drizzle here all day and a temp of 13c! Now when are those thunderstorms arriving? :unknw:

They're not (reverse psychology at work here)

Rain today, but with some torrential bursts in there. Saw a flash of lightning around 1515, but no thunder heard, so I think it was pretty far away.

Two and a half hours to drive home from work this evening, roads in a terrible state with lots of surface flooding. Nothing out of the ordinary really though, just a normal wet evening, already clearing here in London now

Driving back from a party last night was some of the worst weather I've driven in. Monsoon like rain, flooding everywhere, aquaplaning all over the place. Idiot drivers driving around with their fog lights on blinding everyone and either going far too fast or far too slow. My windscreen wipers couldn't keep up.

I breathed a massive sigh of relief when I got home.

People on the south coast and inland slightly heads up for tonight!

Overnight, the focus for any lightning activity shifts to SW Scotland then NW England / N Wales, while a new round of convection will develop over the English Channel and run into parts of SE England through the early hours. There could be some small hail in any stronger cells, and the potential for some brief funnels/spouts, especially along southern coastal counties overnight as LLS increase a little.

That band of rain gave the heaviest spell of the day. The High Street here looked more like a river at one stage. I've checked the Wattisham Station (6 miles from me) and the total for the 24 hours to 09.00 this morning was exactly 28 mm. There may be some impressive totals knocking about tomorrow for anywhere caught under one of the slow moving heavy showers that's forecast.

Meanwhile not a lot to say about today. Sunny spells and feeling cool when the sun goes behind one of the many clouds. A high of 15.6C.
