The 00:15 radar return shows the storm widening.  North Kent and South Essex now in the firing line.  Hertfordshire's having a doozy!!!

I cannot believe the high volume of in cloud flashes going on near Chigwell.

I am sure this cloud above an American plain would look great.

I count 4 new cells incoming from the South Coast according to the 0030 radar...these seem to be tracking north rather than NNE as the first wave did...

Lights flickering here a few times, and I'm still a good distance from the storms at the moment!

This is amazing. Thought the storm was moving away but its picked up again with heavy rain. Constant lightning.

Are we expected to get any more storms here tonight?

Wish I could have used my camera but the click was too loud (in a sleeping child's room).

Lots of Lightning and no big cracks of Thunder, I score it 9/10 for a UK storm.

Got to agree seems to be quiet south of Deal now, just some tail-end clouds scudding over the moon. Couple of awesome storms really both rumbling off towards north sea and East Anglia/Essex if they're lucky.

More likely to end up in the N Sea, they like it there....
