Just been out to bring in my washing - the air is so hot out there, it feels solid!

So let me guess this right, folks.

Last Friday, my location (Bucks) was too far west for the storms, which did the usual skirt of the Eastern seaboard - Kent, Essex, East Anglia.....

And now they're saying the worst storms are gonna be west of Hampshire tomorrow - the SW and South Wales.

Can't win.

Ah c'mon - you guys out east get all the fun! It's been ages since we've had even a sniff of a storm here in S.Devon. I seem to live in a channel where no storms go; they're either East Devon or Plymouth way. Might be to do with Dartmoor I guess....

Anyway, I think it's anyone's guess as to what's actually going to happen. Things are hotting up over in France...

Not sure - I think we need to see how things develop tomorrow morning to be honest. Yes the greatest risk seems further West at the moment. but as ever these setups can sometimes be very unpredictable.

Storms kicking off across north-west France now

Looks like Channel Islands could be impacted, and then hope storms survive the journey across the Channel

I think i may go 'old-school' and listen to sferics on the AM radio

I was just looking at some independent stations underneath those radar echo's in France, not much precip getting to them. Highly elevated and evaporating most of the rain i suspect?!

Looks a bit damp for that part of Spain ..

It has turned incredibly humid here now with mid-level instability all over the sky. When the wind drops, it is awfully oppressive. Can just see the storms in the far distance to the SSE. Really hope they make it across the Channel.

It is also becoming increasingly humid here as well.

Anyway - latest musings from the Met Office - After reading it, another reason why those further East should not assume they will miss out!

BBC news channel forecasts going with a maximum of 23c today, even though temps are widely at 24c and 25c today!

25c is showing as the maximum tomorrow in the London area with thundery rain in the West, storm potential going by the BBC graphics seems to pop up in the afternoon East of the thundery rain band,Home Counties looks a sweet spot.

Currently under the blob in NW France, scary at times with shotgun thunder but visible lightning is hard due to day light

I wouldn't be so sure...initially yes, the SW will probably see the first of any activity but I'd be surprised if most of S England didn't experience some storminess...could just be me blindly hoping lol but have a feeling....
