Thick cloud, nagging cold wind & 11.5c! Horrible. I'm almost praying for a mobile Atlantic spell, at least you get warm sectors & some sunshine in the ridges.

A grey, fairly cool and at times drizzly day here. Pretty unpleasant. Looking forward to some reasonable warmth later on this week.

Is this Summer? Don't feel like it, not complaining - with the prospect of storms in the not so distant future.

Lucky you! Nice to see at least some parts if the UK are not suffering this hideousness lol....

Barely getting into the teens across swathes of central-southern England. Dreadful stuff for mid-June.

Lighter winds, more sunshine and temperatures at least into the high teens so better than yesterday's dire effort.

Much better day today. A bit of sunshine certainly helps to warm the ground & make everything feel better.

Yes, what a HUGE improvement. 19C, sunny and just a slight breeze. Just what you would expect from June.

Just 16*C here with a bit of a cool Northerly wind. But well done to those of you further North getting some warmer temperatures. You deserve it! :good:

I'm enjoying this summer so far. Had a lot of sunshine down London way and the cool temperatures are most welcome. Last summer was a humid, sultry nightmare of sleepless nights. It was so warm at night, bats were out and about, I've never seen bats around here before, must have been because of the huge number of insects thriving in the humidity. Here's to a cool, sunny, batless summer. :drinks:

Im tempted to say this June hasnt been too bad round here so far, Bags of dry and useable weather and the strong sunshine has tried its best to compensate for the low temperatures at times. The coming weekend looks poor but beyond that, who knows, we may end the month on a warm note.

^^ if you exclude yesterday which had a max of 15.7C at Heathrow. But yeah, the further north you go, the more prone and exposed you are to those horrible northwesterly winds.

It has been sunny though - Leeming is on 87 hours to the 9th, with an average of 9 hours of sun a day. Not much rain either except for 16mm on the 2nd.

Just needs to be warmer.

Oh, and for the past three nights, the low temps at Linton on Ouse have been 4.2C, 3.2C and 3.3C, so quite cold. At that particular station, June has not had a 10C+ min yet. The last one was on 23 May!

That's the good thing about the South East. Even when you get these cooler spells, temperatures still hover around the 18-21C mark, which anyone would argue still feels very respectable in the sunshine. The cooler spells up here are a much different story though... 12-15C with cloud and cold rain. Not fun.

I think people up north have plenty to complain about as you are stuck with autumn temperatures in summer. Although there is still plenty of time for your fortunes to turn. Having said that, El Nino summers are not great, from what I have read. They tend to favour cool, unsettled conditions, with the best of the weather coming during late August and September.

Today the temperature is 19c, but people are still out in their t-shirts. It felt fine in the sunshine, but a little cool in the shade. Those night time temperatures are ridiculous. :shok:

Does anyone know why that is?
