30.6 in my garden (in the shade) at the moment and 29.7 at the official Reading University site, which is much less sheltered.  Yes, it's going to be a warm one :)

Edit: just reached 30.0 at the official site now - we're definitely in for a scorcher!

30.2c in my sun trap garden.

I melted on a brisk walk outside earlier.

32c@ 10am Heathrow.Looking quite cloud free all day around London too. Will the July record go? Some models in the run up to this heatwave had progged some extraordinary highs for today....

Just about to say this.. That cloud down south is now breaking up so I don't really see it as a threat now..

32 before 12pm for the uk is astonishing.. I wonder when we will next see this..

Luckily still holding onto a breeze but it's getting a touch too hot for my liking now I have to admit. If I was off today and could sit in the shade with a nice cold beer I'd be happy...oh and a swimming pool too lol

yup,i think that developing precipitation in the channel needs watching, just East of the IOW.If that throws a cloud sheet North over SE England in the next few hours we can kiss goodbye to any records.

That is amazing, not expecting the UK's overall record to fall but I can't recall temps being that high at this time in the morning back on 10th August 2003

Not nesasserially, (cant spell that word sorry) peak heating will start in about 2 hours through to about 3... even with breaks the max temps are usually around 3-4 somtimes 5pm because of the land unleashing the heat locked in with the high air temps.

High ciruss cloud won't really have much of an effect where as low cloud and mid level cloud will ..

The warmest night here for a long time, probably since July 2006 in fact, with a low of 21.7C, already 24.8C outside, feels truly Mediterranean out there.

My poor man is working on a roof in amering today! Feel really sorry for him!

Not as clear as it was yesterday, lovely breeze. Surely not 30C now??!!??.

Not expecting anything thundery as per bedford standards so will be glad when the  fresher air comes. :nonono:

For once the constant wind I get here is welcomed, in fact VERY welcomed. It's quite a breeze too at times. Looking hopeful up at the sky, a rain shower really wouldn't do any harm, and if it does it at 3pm when i have to walk to school, so much the better.

27 here now. Looks like we could hit the 30's even on the coast, that would be some going.

I think an are of dross developing off the SE coast will hold the temperatures at predicted values as thicker cloud from it works NE across SE England. The record would have gone imo had we kept clear blue skies.

It's not developing, it's dying, unless when it hits land it starts building again. Only the stuff by IOW is building at the mo.
