Mark in Oxford has 27.9mm in his gauge now. I'm sure it'll go past 30mm over the next few hours. :)

No action from the heavy showers here, all went to the NW of us giving us a sunny and warm afternoon.  Clouded over later with some light but persistent drizzle through the evening.

It has been replaced by something warm and sunny Eugene. So ner ner!

Sunny and 14.1°C

Some very heavy bursts of rain tonight, with a risk of thunder. That'll do nicely. :)

Well, looks like some possibly thundery weather this evening and overnight, I'm not sure how high my risk is as forecasts are showing the risk to be further east but there is a definitely a potential of some thundery rain/thunderstorms tonight and/or torrential rain.

Some heavy/torrential rain now moving into the SW approaches, this is most likely going to move into Cornwall but further south, some more heavy rain is now visible on radar.

The first installment of rain appears to be moving south of Cornwall so the next batch likely around 1900. Shows how difficult it is sometimes even in a short time frame.

Raining pretty steady for the last half hour here, about four hours earlier than the Met Office forecast issued at 14.00....... :cc_confused:

A recent sferic has been detected by the NW v6 radar near Taunton, approximately 30 minutes ago. Plenty of heavy stuff starting to edge its way Northwards, we are just about to see the very first few spots here in Newbury.

I think that's because the earlier rain band took a more a more easterly track.

A little bit of rain so far but not much, looks like a lot more to come this evening and overnight but I think thunder and lightning is not likely.

Looks like the heaviest stuff is again going through more central areas so far. Just a few spots here so far.

Not really much going on here, a lot of intensity has gone from it.

Just as I type that, it becomes a bit more moderate. lol

Welcome Mr Grimsley. :D

Unnoticed by BBC Weather it seems. Even their 'nowcast' is wrong.

Well, I'm not expecting much of anything now. It's barely spitting and there's no bright radar echo's coming this way. I don't what it is about the models and rain from the south, they struggle so much!

Crackin' downpour here around 5:25 - 5:40, torrential rain and howlin' wind, even the dog refused to go outside in that. He looked, he turned, he looked, he turned, ho looked, and then went back to his bed. A sure sign it was not good to go out and experience. By 5:50 it had quietened down, so much so the dog figured it was ok to go outside by then!

Currently 13.2°C and blowing a hoolie! But, it is sunny and doesn't feel too bad.
