I wonder if anyone in the SE had the cheek to phone in work and state they are snowed in   :D

i did, I'm a courier and said that I didnt think I could make my deliveries as I had lying snow  and more was expected  (a van brings the parcels to me each day and I then deliver them in in my car  ), but by 10.30 it had melted and roads were clear and no more snow, I text that if they hadnt sorted anything that I could do the deliveries but they had already been sent back, they asked if I will be working tomorrow and I've said depends on the weather

Now we have all this lovely precipitation, it's ***** rain/sleeting!

Screw this winter

This is the bit I don't understand about this current set up, should be -8 uppers over us at the moment but

the 2m temperatures and dew points don't seem to reflect this. We had 40mm last night so not a bad return from

those showers .

Wow ! Maria, you must work for a friendly courier company :) . Our courier would be expected to carry the parcels on his back by his controllers !

think its because I'm self employed, turns out I could have done the deliveries but because more snow was '"expected" and we already had snow on the ground I didnt want to risk it as the main roads would be clear but not all the little streets , closes  avenues  etc

Talk about disturbed sleep was up every 2 hours checking to see if my 3mms of snow cover was still there lol!

Not had a chance to browse through everyone's posts anyone have a league table u can add Gravesend just under half a centimetre lol- seems as though London did better I'm guessing the Chilterns& W London maybe parts of the Surrey Downs too did the best?? Between Gravesend and new cross I think Falconwood shooters hill may have done the best?

I went through Falconwood on my train this morning and can confirm the area did better than mine with snow depths.  I'd say between Welling and Kidbrooke faired the best (on my train route anyway)

Looks like another shower will be coming on radar here soon, temp gone up to 2.3 dp 1.9 so not expecting it to be snow, although earlier there was some heavy snow in the heavy bursts, so that may happen again.

Our Kent streamer has shifted very slightly west. Now getting frequent showers just west of Canterbury and falling as wet snow rather than earlier sleet/rain, so looks like temp and DP dropping a bit

Bbc forecasts today have been great viewing, they might as well point at the map, shrug their shoulders and walk off

Laughably bad over the past 24 hours...

Can't see why the Meto have a warning for thursday, can't see much potential on the Euro4 or NetWx-Sr although the latter does correctly forecast there may be a few tears in here for anyone taking the warnings seriously.
