Interesting Fax Chart for 12z Thursday Nick, that says to me possible a more organised band of Snow from the NE As opposed to showers with that trough alligned at the perfect angle, probably snow in the morning followed by showers in the afternoon.

All eyes to Thursday and Friday it seems for more general snow for some in the SE

Interesting Paul. I only moved to Chingford 18 months ago – seems to be one of the snowiest spots in London from what I can tell from colleagues at work today... Except Croydon that is :)

about 2cm... not bad and looks good for today/tonight into tomorrow :) tonight is going to be dodgy with ice...

About the same here. Maybe a fraction more on the tops in the Forest – how do I post up pictures?

Have to say im rather surprised at predicted temps today.

Considering the upper temps are -8C and SST's off the Norfolk coast are below average then I would of expected around 3C.

Today is one of the reasons why I much prefer cold spells in Dec & early Jan.

Just spat my tea out, flicking through channels came across Rob McElwee presenting the weather on Aljazeera news channel! Had no idea! Didn't get any snow last night Ipswich way but that has cheered me up. He did show pictures of drowned sheep in central Europe though. What a guy!

'Most inland areas of the South should miss the snow'. Which reads like a Kent clipper to me.

And coastal areas will get rain and sleet.:-)

Looking at the warnings, the metoffice seem to believe that any potentially troublesome snowfall will end by tomorrow afternoon. A tad disappointing if that is the case. Hopefully there will be a change on that front.

Will any snow cover remain by late afternoon, of the stuff that fell in our area last night? (>150m altitude excepted)

Nice beefy snow shower heading my way. That for me is key with regards to temps because frequent cloud cover will certainly depress my temps.

It's all over here. I'm going to take a dive out in my Legacy before it all melts. :)
