Just sliding north west of here, damn if only this was heading directly south.

*sigh*. Well wasn't expecting much anyway.

Did get a good picture of the moon dog though.

St. Albans snowshield in full effect! :wallbash:

Wouldn't worry to much - looking at the radar it's only just reaching St. Albans nowish

I'm not so sure for tonight now for here, the goal posts keep moving and I'm worried about later this week being a damp squib too now.

Thames streamer requires an easterly...

Moved West very quickly, such a shame!

Agreed, interesting shift to the west. We may see a more southern push soon and ppn growing in strength on eastern edge.

London is just eating away at the ppn, so it will need a more concerted band to head through for it to affect those of us in town.

Very poor BBC forecast at 10.30. No mention of the snow that is spreading sw and is even knocking on the door of parts of SW Midlands. Why don't these forecasters do the simple thing of looking at the radar!!

Looking good for snow showers to return here from the Wash.

I agree. Are they in denial or something? The graphics they use these days are so abysmal. Splodges of white here and there, all in the wrong places lol

We are obviously in the sweet spot as well tonight. Been snowing since 8pm now, snowing heavily still. Decent covering.

Been round next door with the snow shovel to clear my elderly neighbours paths and salt them.

Isn't that surface airflow though, rather than upper?

What a twist of fate the 500 wind vectors and 700 wind vectors all move in a SW direction roughly along the m4 corridor , hence the shift as the band moved southwards , 50 miles North / South the winds are in s more northerly direction

That's called buggers luck

I said hours ago that this would miss London to the west BUT that was meant to a bit of a joke! Next time I will keep my big mouth shut.

Sorry.

But none of them arrows are pointing SW, which is the direction the precip is moving. So can't rely on these wind directions I wouldn't have thought
