Lol an extremely wintry scene here in the tropics as it flirts with the 4C mark.

Yep me too!

Me three! STayed to to the early hours, being at work for 8am this morning has been a killer! LOTS of coffee. Still snow on ground/trees here but melting. Looking forward to the colder weather Sunday onwards and hoping it brings troughs/disruptions as this air will be less marginal and better for all!

Morning people from sunny Wirral!

Well that Polar Low was more like a Polo, white round the edges with nothing in the middle or should that be Wirral! Total utter crap living here.

Nice 3in covering here - hoping that today's slightly milder incursions don't do too much to thaw the snow level.  After that it should be okay to stick around with temps on the drop again. Looking forward to weekend and getting into the Oldham hills.

No more really expected today unfortunately - plus it will turn 'less cold' later and tomorrow up to 5oC (not sure how that translates to you at your altitude!) hopefully your snow sticks around for the colder weather arriving over weekend, but I have no doubt mine will all melt!! haha

Agreed.

Just took a nosey through charts, which at this stage look fairly dry with very little in way of ppn - HOWEVER if there is one thing I have learnt over years, get the cold in first and watch unexpected troughs/disruptions form. Especially in an unstable northerly - so nothing too exciting showing right now, except some very hard frosts, but we will have to wait til early next week to see if any situations arise!

Ace!

Can't wait to come up there this weekend !

Im thinking as we have this much snow itll not melt at all.... The temp really shouldnt get much above 0-2c and if we had any clear skies overnight i would reckon wed easily get down to -5 to -8c....

 METO Forecast for tonight

Snow showers falling to low levels

 for tomorrow Night

wintry showers becoming more frequent, with snow PERHAPS getting to low levels

I agree though most charts I have looked at don't indicate much at all, obviuosly  the METO

Have better software that is not available to the public

Also on the fax charts last night there was trough coming down from the north

Most short range models are hinting at fairly heavy precipitation through the region 9pm ish at times, including the met office radar forecast.

We shall see what happens although I expect localized falls.

Is this for this evening? I would guess temps will be a tad too warm.
