Intensified somewhat on the northern edge, west mids should see something out of it after all.

Apparently the snow has formed on a line of instability.

The high cloud we have had all day was moving towards the east. It hadn't quite reached the East Coast when the surface winds changed to bring a North East breeze and the additional moisture above started off the showers in the east and they have been pushed back westwards by the increasing Noreaster.

To us a means a possible unforecasted snowfall.

Just shows - get the cold air in first and anything can happen.

Also to counter the gloom being spread by ILTS, the ECM charts have just shown a big movement towards a massive colder blast setting up for next week. MO seem to support, but GFS are being reticent.

However even the yanks are saying that the GFS looks a nonsense for the USA continent. So we must wait and see.

Not far off hitting Worcester  now is it??

Looks like that area might go just to the E of Worcester. Evesham seems to be in the firing line, though: Essan might end up with snow after all! :D

This is sort of like that one we had in Jan 2013, where nothing was forecast at all and then it developed off the Wash and just kept coming. We got almost a foot out of that set-up.

Hope springs eternal ay? :-)

Spotted my problem, I'm in a very tiny dry slot. Doesn't last long thankfully. Hopefully I'll see something soon.

Has anyone noticed too, it's not 2am and we're not all hanging on for dear life for a sleety mess? This si the real deal! At last 'safe snow'! :-D

Just nipped outside: all quiet here (except for the owls). There's a thin veil of cloud dimming the Moon a little, but that's all. Keeping an eye on Gord's situation, 'cause if he starts getting snow then I may do so a bit later!

Yep! Certainly wasn't forecasted, just goes to show anything can happen and just appear out of nowhere. Further showers coming inland from the east it looks like as well

Just a quick note that it has now turned to proper snow in Solihull (Shirley). Medium sized flakes are falling steadily.
