Exciting.. Some people/models saying it could go east, some saying over wales, can't it just compromise and smash right into Birmingham & the Black Country? :):D

On the topic of what may or may not happen after the immediate future..tonight's ECM looks good at T120..potentially an easterly on the way?

Very heavy snow falling here atm and lying too! :-o

The temperature were just below freezing before it hit too, so it will lie.

Hopefully a little bit of excitement later on tonight, but I shan't hold my breath :-D

Just seen Midlands ITV forcast.

Didn't seem to know about any possibility of snow tonight (maybe a shower)

However , she said right at the end that the BBC have just put out severe weather warnings for snow in our area.!!!

It must show that they are working on early afternoon forcast from their supplier.

The  BBC national forcast was more interesting ....

They had picked up on an interesting feature coming down thru the Irish Sea. Ireland and wales would be hit quite badly, However the snow was shown to be breaking up over Cheshire and nothing much will reach the Midlands.(ie the fizzle out scenario). However the graphics showed it picking up in intensity as it neared the south coast on its way to France for tomorrow. He also spoke about very strong winds in south western, wales and southern England with potentaial gales.

So lessons to  be learned ... ITV working on out of date info...... BBC trying to pick it up.....

.

PS Shefali has just made a special appearance in the news section  and she has said that there could  be substantial snow for the western and southern fringes of the midlands and we should stay tuned for the detail in 10mins.

I'm with you Shef....

MIA

Snowing in Bewdley -- just about settling on cars, not on roads/pavements/grass. Probably still the snowiest it's been all day!

Snow shower settling here now... but it keeps falling away and then melting so it's all rather pointless!

Here are Daniel Smith's thoughts on Tonight..

Another dry gap coming in now with not a lot downwind of here.

However, it all moves so quickly that there could be more cropping up soon.

Its funny looking at that because it means nothing as the track is uncertain read the met warnings also heavy snow here now

Current snow from Brum is heading south east, so those charts PW posted are well out of date.

Whey that was a delight of a surprise, snow shower a good 45 minutes long here giving a covering, just stopping now, down to 1c.

Bbc just showed the area of snow going down north and central wales down the west side of the midlands and then central southern englands and spinning out south east
