I think those going round in circles dissecting forecasts from different forecasters (or the same ones at different times) are just going to tie themselves in knots here. You're in the SE of England,

yeah she just text me the same-

Just had a peak at the 18z UKMO (meso) and it shows the centre of the small low moving SE across the Midlands around 3am then across SE England around 6am, sleet/snow showers swirling around this low

You are all so kind. We really are a community. Your thoughts mean a lot. She is my best friend.

She always hated the stuff. Probably something to do with struggling through winter 62/63 with 4 young children and an absent husband for most of it (Dad was on a business trip to Brazil). Not helped by living out in the country on top of a steep hill. We relied on a neighbour who had a LandRover, but we survived.

Beautiful lovely Mum.

My thoughts are with you.

Updated 13:53 today. Weather for the week ahead.

31 January 2015

Will snow remain a feature of the forecast for the week ahead? Sarah Keith-Lucas has the details.

Thanks.  Rather a vague forecast, given the use of the words "details"; those BBC graphics seem to be getting worse!

I don't want it to snow. My dearest beloved mother is in hospital with heart failure not likely to make it. Snow will always have negative connotations for me.

Instead of being a joy, it will be e heart ache. Just not now.

My thoughts and prays are with you and your family...

Beautiful lovely Mum. But just maybe... she's pulled through before and I must stay positive.

Think all of us on netweather are thinking of you especially those who have gone through something similar.

Here in North Suffolk, it's no more than sleety rain...

Anyone know if there's a warm sector passing through at the moment? Feels less cold at there at the moment.

Best wishes Iceni and I echo everyone else's sentiments.

I think there must be. At least that's what I'm assuming.

Shame, it looks quite heavy ?

Its very heavy, back garden is developing many lawn puddles. Shame the cold hasn't really developed here all day, we had a really heavy frost overnight but between 8 and 9am, it disappeared very quickly. Hoping the rain may drag down some cold air and get things kick started

Is the precipitation around the Norfolk area falling as rain or snow ?

It was heavy snow for about an hour and a half, from about 3.30 until 5. Since then it's turned to rain or sleet in the heavier bursts. 5mm of rain now. If only that had all been settling snow!

On the plus side the temp is dropping again, down for 0.9C to 0.6C in the past 15 mins.

I do feel for you Iceni - my mother is in hospital with pneumonia and heart failure 130 miles away from me here - we are up and down the motorway and the thought of snow is filling me with dread, luckily the small amount we had this morning didn't stop us getting there but reading about people getting depressed because there is not deep snow is probably not the best thing at the moment and I am trying to not look at the forums just the travel news. My thoughts are with you - it is a tough time.
