Up north yes. Down here no! It's going to be 5-7 degrees most of the week.

Not based on GFS 6Z actual big drop is evident bear in mind I'm from London

12pm run of temps IMBY from the 6Z

3c 2c 4c 4c 2c 1c 1c 3c

Certainly much colder than the 18z , the cold is a tough force!

few cm shown for wednesday night on XCWeather

divvy up the days over say the last decade, break them down by season and look at how many snow days there are in winter, hot days in summer, much of the time the weather is "normal", it's the way our weather goes.

Actually climatologists will tell you our weather is anything but normal at the moment. 2014 was the warmest year ever. Nothing normal about that.

I don't expect endless ice days and 3 foot of snow but a few days of laying snow in the months December to March isn't for me extreme but normal for our latitude.

Think your clutching at straws for a reason as to why we have not had snow.  If snow was an everyday thing then it would not generate the level of interest as it does and certainly not get headlines with phrases like "event" if it was so.

NetWx has it fading away to the West of our region, nothing more than a few flakes by the time it reaches the South Midlands

It is looking as if it's going to decay later as it moves further south. Possibility of something in North Norfolk later tonight but likely the soon fizzle to nothing after that. You never know though, something to keep an eye on tonight.

I can assure you there is no straw clutching here and I've never suggested snow is an everyday event but no snow in 2 years is abnormal in my book and not as you say normal !!

Looking at the rainfall radar precipitation moving south east! Seems to be intensifiying! Maybe it will fizzle out once the sun goes down?

Unfortunately mate it will probably fizzle out as that seems to have been the theme over the past couple of days. Dewpoints would be an issue if it did reach us.

Shame :(

As Steve said earlier we need a good 24hrs of cold at the surface to get things more favourable for us.

Anything that falls will be rain in our region! Not cold enough – I suspect that will also be the case this evening...

The PPN is still organised even a quite good turn up in intensity, it's interesting as today was thought to be dry. if the PPN remains intact it might actually snow - Norfolk with greatest chance.
