Did the same other day then the wife dropped a block of butter on the bruised toe.

Wind is getting gusty here but rather overshadowed by next week's cold prospects.

I've learnt not to control a can of diet coke when dropped on the instep of your foot, cos it chuffin hurts and comes up in a nice egg shaped lump.

You're never too old to learn new stuff.

Starting to blow a bit here now - I would guess around 25-30mph.  Hopefully tonight's storm will herald some more wintery fun and games into the weekend and next week!  We bloody well deserve it down here after last years shambles!!!

Windy ish here.

Trying to remember an old hymn/song I used to sing, about the rains came down and the floods came up.

Off to google. Be back in a tick.

So, what's occurring over the next couple of days? I sense less buzz about the impending cold weather than last night.

I think there's a bit of a downer on the South East's snow chances based on some of the snow maps shown, but as has been explained many times on the MOD thread, they're useless until around 6-12 hours out.  Just get the cold in place, then pray!!!

Is it the one about the wise man built his house upon a rock? or am I completely confused?

Lots of imby-ism in there tonight.

Ummmm, I googled quickly, came from a child bible song or something. Am off again.

Used to sing that long along with the one about if the devil didn't come down the chimney he'd be sure to come in at the door. Got thrown out of Sunday school for getting over enthusiastic about acting out the bit about fighting the devil with all my might and getting into a punch-up with a couple of other kids. Oops.

Still doesn't sound that windy outside.

Yeah, bang on Meggy. Thanks Ray, and sorry to the people on here. Just looked out the window and those words popped into my head.

I blame my parents.

The Wise Man Built His House

The wise man built his house upon the rock

The wise man built his house upon the rock

The wise man built his house upon the rock

And the rain came tumbling down

Oh, the rain came down

And the floods came up

The rain came down

And the floods came up

The rain came down

And the floods came up

And the wise man's house stood firm.

The foolish man built his house upon the sand

The foolish man built his house upon the sand

The foolish man built his house upon the sand

And the rain came tumbling down

Oh, the rain came down

And the floods came up

The rain came down

And the floods came up

The rain came down

And the floods came up

And the foolish man's house went "splat!" [clap hands once]

So, build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ

Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ

Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ

And the blessings will come down

Oh, the blessings come down

As your prayers go up

The blessings come down

As your prayers go up

The blessings come down

As your prayer go up

So build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Imby-ism that's a great word.

Used to sing that song in primary school, it had actions too.

Great evening, eating a red hot chicken and pearl barley and various vegetables in broth casserole straight from the slow cooker while listening to the wind outside, really cozy.

Wow, BBC weather on news channel at 9.56 really ramping up next weeks cold and snow potential. Can't believe they went that far!
