Yesterday made me realise I'm getting old and grumpy.

Unfortunately I had to spend time on the road and on foot, in drizzle.

Drizzle is both garbage to drive in and garbage to walk around in. You can't put your wipers on properly but then deciding which speed of intermittency you need is also a pain in the rear.

And walking around in it is just pants!

Rant over - much like winter as things stand.

Have a nice evening and weekend folks.

Agreed, drizzle is the work of the devil. :diablo:

At least the frost has returned here this evening.

Frost?

Crikey, well above freezing here and only variable amounts of cloud.

Be nice to see the sun over the weekend actually if the BBC forecast has got it right.

The final nail in the coffin for this spell was last night

Anyway the next week at least looks settled and less cold with temps rising upto around 7c for the weekend

Can't give a current temperature as wunderground has crashed but its turning brighter from the north so hopefully some sunshine will be with us soon

Pretty accurate forecast as it happens.

Well its shaping up to be a fairly pleasant weekend for the NE with light winds and ample sunshine

Currently 0.4c in Darlo and plenty of sunshine should reach around 7c this afternoon

Was this taken from your bedroom window this morning? I assume you're grounded and are taking pics to pass the time ...

I managed to escape and went for a drive over the moors past Wolsingham way where it is still a wintry scene.

Ah wrong thread.

This is the "snow-free" thread.

The moors are more or less fully white here still, has thawed steadily today though.

See above :good:

This really is a dirty high. Way too much cloud for my liking..

It's been lovely and sunny for quite a large part of the day today though, and tomorrow's looking good too but chilly at 5c.

Tomorrow and Monday also looking sunny with some pleasant temperatures, different story for the west though much more cloud and some fog similar to today so feeling colder west of the pennines but over here in the east it looks like 3 sunny and fairly pleasant days in a row

Pressure has hit 1039mb here in Darlington a very strong high

Well since we're in such a dull period of weather I'd thought I'd bring out some of my photos of winters gone by to cheer us all up.

A nice polar low in 2006

And this lovely scene

And finally something we have lacked this winter, unsure when this was

Another glorious late winters day shaping up from the NE wall to wall sunshine to start the day a slight frost under the clear skies

Yesterday had a big contrast in the NE and Cumbria over in Carlisle they had cloud and fog with a high of just 1c, whilst over here in the east Durham hit 10c (50f) with the sunshine.
