I have now heard more thunder today than the whole of last summer. Seem to be quite a few lively showers around the area.

Typical, soon as it's cold enough for lying snow, the radar instantly becomes pants! We need activity between the isle of man and cumbria.

Harsh dya think that lot exiting north Ire got our name on it?

Chances arent great for us this far east. After travelling across the Pennines the showers are weakened before The Wolds kill them off good and proper.

Theres the chance of the odd rogue one making it over but the best chance for us is the northerly at the weekend.

Thanks reef... I will be watching the radar on Sunday. Hope you guys have fun #jealous

That was a big boom, heavy snow pellets now!!

The lightening flash was blinding. Didn't expect so much thunder snow. Think that's 4 times now this evening.

It's a possibility, does seem to be heading towards that zone that later equals heavy showers for us (the irish sea north of isle of man.)

Well I did something else for an hour and peeked out of the window to see no falling snow but a good covering on all surfaces including the side road I live on. Must have belted it down. Temperature dropped 2c in half an hour.

I'll be well disappointed if this is all we're going to get on and off through the night.

3 very bright flashing of lightening here in fairly quick succession, although not heard any thunder yet.
