Anomalous propagation (aka anoprop) includes different forms of electromagnetic wave propagation that are not encountered in a standard atmosphere due to a non standrad distribution of temperature and humidity with height in the atmosphere

Or basically as it refers to a false radar echo ....super refraction in a temp inversion blah blah I'm boring myself lol

As this cold spell is (thankfully) now ending it is time to get sucked in by the latest ECM FI run and go on another wild goose chase!

if this is truly it and no more cold, then roll on the dry, warm sunny weather! hate the stuff in between - dark, dank wet :)

I'm sure we will get one more snowy opportunity ( at least ) for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with the current set up ( probably late Feb )

Once we are in March i long for Spring ....and once we are in April / May i long for Summer.....then in Oct i long for Winter again. Always looking forward and chasing the seasons for some strange reason !

At least this Winter has delivered something for most of us in our region. ( unlike the horror show last Winter )

Regards

JS

So one week on then from the deep snow in Sheffield and its just about hanging on up here :)

Still a good covering on the grass and huge piles next to drive ways. Ive enjoyed my white world for a week!!

The slow, agonising, sad melt is underway though now. BOO! :cray:

Been raining and drizzling this morning. Its now getting very foggy. Could be a lot of ice tonight if it clears up as the ground is soaked.

Actually I got a slushy 5cm briefly last winter before it quickly melted and this year I only managed about 4 which also melted quickly. At least it was actually cold for a reasonable time this winter :).

Had three good snow days here, with probably around 10 days with laying snow. Last year all I got was a 5 min snowfall. This winters been good but it' not a great one.

Typical...last night we had heavy ppn all night from a milder Nly flow...tonight there's a colder Ely flow and all the ppn looks like it'll be south of us...guys in SE may get lucky...

Doesn't look like it HP is establishing. Glad to see you got something. :)

Looking fairly cold & dry for the foreseeable.

Bit underwhelmed by this winter...
