Back to the muck this morning. 7C with light drizzle.

Yes utterly miserable again today I think we can safely rule out the 4th official winter month in a row now for snow.

Reminds me of the 90's winters  :sorry:

So depressing isn't it. The storm that's coming in next weekend could be interesting though... Even though as I type this I'm wondering why I'm bothering as it won't happen as it is modelled currently.

Everything good seems to be dragged away further into FI.

Nursing a mammoth hangover today and the weather is doing nothing to help it!

My thoughts on the final third of December, should you wish to read them.

Everyone ready for blizzards on the 27th? Looking good!

Some back edge snow? Maybe...

Just trying to stay realistic, because no doubt we'll end up getting carried away then get very disappointed when we get nothing

Maybe just maybe once we can get carried away and we do get loads of snow. Wouldn't it be great if we managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat this time around.

It is Christmas after all, and we have all been good haven't we...... :w00t:   :smiliz19:  :diablo:  :girl_devil:

Very uninspiring day today...

Grey with drizzle .

Anyway good model viewing coming up just about anything could happen now, who knows as this storm digs down in to the euro we could get hights up to the NE.

All to play for!

Have a good Sunday evening everyone :)

   :aggressive:  :wallbash:

I had to check it was still December and not april 1st..

I see many hope we might see some transient wet snow on back edge of the system which would be amazing after not seeing snow for so long however I have seen these forecast often only to be downgraded as the event moves into the reliable with only a little sleet to show for it.

Looking back to 1978 when Fantasy Island meant something more than just FI, where the enigmatic Mr. Roarke somehow makes the secret dreams of his well-heeled guests come true.

Oh what fun that would be instead of the never ending FI we seem to see these days where it never seems to play out.

Right back to the original where things did happen when wished for. Goodnight.

Just imagine what weather we would've experienced had FI verified each time! One might say the weather in this country is actually interesting...

Today was vile, 11.3C some 4-5C above where it should be with slate grey skies and drizzle blowing in the wind off and on all day. There was a very similar spell for a few days in December 2008 preceding the long, dry, frosty spell from Christmas long into January. Hopefully we can get some cold after next weekend.

The usual wet windy crud.

One day we might get winter back in the UK instead of 6 month autumns.

6 months? and the rest!  :nonono:

I am sick to the back teeth of it, not even a frosty week of weather to show for December so far, yes the occasional frost but not the lasting ones where i drive home to a thick frost that hasn't melted for 2-3 days in a row up on mendip. Not a single snow day for December is also rare at altitude with an average of 4 days here.  :wallbash:

Who had a serious curry last night and let it rip around 1am? We were woken by a howling gale that seemed to last about an hour.

A pretty decent day so far, breezy and cloudy but dry with hints of brightness, not to mention the balmy feel at 11.9c!

Another boring cloudy dull day.

Looks like the weather might sprig into life after Christmas, I don't mind anything but gales though - causes nothing but damage and expense.

Some lovely snow would be nice, but I guess that's asking to much.

That's the difference between here & Europe.

Here it so seldom snows, it's a miracle when it does.

In Europe the Ski resorts expect heavy snowfall each year.

It's a miracle when it doesn't

(Having said that I know you have the UK knack of going to the nosnow resorts, just feel like you are at home!)

:spiteful:

It is a yearly joke in this forum and at home as you couldn't make it up, the two snowiest spells that we have had in west country over recent hard winters I missed completely while having a dry sunny ski holiday, not always done badly for conditions on slopes although never in 10 ski holidays have i seen it snow!

This year however is currently rather worrying as there is nothing to ski on at all I am just hoping for some huge falls shortly after xmas as they need it.
