Nice line of thunderstorms developing, they are all heading for Plymouth ! 
Some people may get woken by a very early alarm clock!

Boom nice early wake up call here in guernsey, Thunder and lightning has been rumbling away for the past hour, had some cracking cgs and loud cracks in the last 10 minutes. Frequency is dropping now though.

This makes me happy indeed

Edit! Holyyyy smoke! That was the closeest cg ive ever seen! I have gone death! Made me jump! This storm has now gone nuts in the last 2 minutes now!

And now a positive strike right ocer head!

Urmm well i can safely say ive never jumped so much in my life them last 3 strikes were pure positive cgs very very close ive never heard thunder so loud in my life! Im still literally shakig haha and so is this house!

By god, that thunderstorm to the S is nearly becoming the size of an MCS. That anvil looking pretty special, too.

That was definatly one of the loudest thunderstorms ive definatly experienced never jumped and shook so much ever! That was literally awsome stuff!

More to come hopefully, too! Some of the strongest storms are expected in northern and north western France today tomorrow and Saturday, the south of the UK at least should get home grown storms and imports...

Yeah, think I heard something a while ago, towers and anvil visible to the S, getting exciting.

Certainly looks like a lot of potential over the next few days for some more organised thunderstorms.

 

We've already had a pretty good year regading the amount of storms we've had, and that might be able to get better still.

a new storm has fired just south of Portsmouth tracking NNW......quick development as this one has gone up in 30 minutes!

Looks like you've got something happening near the IOW.

From here in Crawley and I can just about make out towers down that way towards the IOW. However I can also start seeing towers going up quickly to my SSW, so near Littlehamption/Worthing way? Probably be on the radar shortly.

Yep. Elevated storms and precip is falling through a layer of warm air, so most of it is evaporating. 

As we go through in to tomorrow, it will destabalise more- should be some torrential downpours around.

Interesting, I was looking on an Isle Of Wight webcam near Sandown and it was throwing it down with water running off the roofs!

Cracking storm just broken out here. Very heavy rain and the type of thunder that makes you jump out of your chair. A lot of very wet and surprised people out on the streets of Portsmouth right now!!
