Not unpleasant down here in the SE corner of the region, but 'only' 17.6c with blue skies and the sun never climbing far from the horizon. The grass is growing in leaps and bounds, but never dries out enough to cut it. May need a scythe come the spring.

I don't think it feels as warm as that personally, but it certainly feels unseasonable.

Afternoon

 

What a balmy day it has been, plus 20oC on the last day of October! saw mention it is a record beater on the BBC news web site.  19.2oC in the shed now, been dry all day whilst cloudy it has been bright with some sunny spells or hazy at times.  All change as the next month takes charge, as things look set to become more seasonal very soon.

The met office have tweeted that charlwood has already reached 22.5C. 23C could be on. Simply stunning.

Looks like I was wrong, 24C has been recorded in a couple of spots. 20-23C widely across the UK, simply stunning.

I echo the comments on here about enjoying the unusual warmth for the time of year. I was wondering round Hastings after work at 6pm in just a tshirt (and trousers!) I had a fleeting thought that perhaps all year round warmth would be lovely... But then quickly decided I was not myself being a complete obsessive snow freak in winter, if not frost upon frost with clear blue skies. I hope we have a winter to suit all tastes, I have witnessed how it gets in mod threat with the coldies-v- mildies nonsense the less of that the better in my opinion!

Finally thanks to all who regularly post on here I enjoy reading the updates and thoughtful meandering's. I haven't really posted much so will perhaps try to become better contributor. Enjoy your evening folks.

Yep. Absolute madness! Felt so weird with the sun so low and it being so warm! 

 

The chances of seeing snow this winter though I'd say are 100% greater !! Last winter I'm convinced will be the worst I will ever see, no winter can be that bad again surely!! Although people forget that heights did build in mid-Jan over Scandinavia and nearly reached here with a battleground scenario over us. But then the Atlantic just powered back in. Lady luck was not with us last winter at all. 

The jetstream is looking very different now though and a Pacific trough instead of a high looks to be in place. This was responsible for sending the jet slicing through America, off the Eastern Seaboard and then up to us relentlessly. Certainly not the case right now at all!

After a damp start here it is wall to wall blue and bright sunshine now, cooler with a light breeze.

Cloudy here today. Feeling cooler with no sun but a little muggy with it I think, or I'm coming down with something.

The cloud band is moving through and once done it should become a lot brighter, it certainly is here.  Willing the washing machine on  so I can get it out on the line.

Sunshine and rain here now, the front appears to have fragmented somewhat. Still warm at 17C.

I have washing to put out too, just waiting for this front to clear incase it decides to drop something. Looks unlikely now on radar but I'm not taking chances.

In considerable pain tonight after raking up all the leaves front and back - wind now gusting 29mph+ so that was a wasted effort!

been windy here since the cloud from that cold front cleared, was a bonus cause it helped dry my washing quicker. Like using a blow drier.
