Chilly last night, down to 04.9C, so a nice fresh autumnal feel this morning. The sky is also blue for the second day in a row which is a bonus!

The weather is of a high-quality today, but perhaps could do being just a smidge warmer. Rating: 9.2/10

Well we too have a wonderful sunny day with a high of 18.9C, spent most of the day in the garden, but Autumn is definitely here.

Lowest overnight temperature was 4.1C

It's a bright start with some lingering mist in the fields which should soon burn off to leave another sunny dry day.

However there is a chance of some rain this evening and during the night.

Current Conditions.

Temperature 7.9C

Pressure 1021mb

Humidity 100%

Wind Dead Calm

Nice chilly morning again after a low of 05.7C, so not quite as a cold as the night before.

I was out working in Frome this morning and today was the first morning this Autumn when fog has formed after sunrise and thickened further despite the sun being up soon after 07.00, it thinned again after 08.30 and the sun is shining strongly between some decent convection.

Patchy light rain arriving so the 22- day drought about to end, first measurable rain of September it should be.

Coolest day of the month too, max 17.3c which is though still average for late September.

9 nights have had fog this month here but it has always cleared by 0900.

Last nights fog formed just after midnight when the temperature was 1.9c otherwise an air frost may well have occurred.

Yup you guessed it, another cloudy featureless afternoon, lost count of how many there's been this month now.

What's happened to our local weather on BBC Points West? It's been a 'full' south west forecast this eve; where's Ian gone?

The Points West and Spotlight programmes merged due to power cuts/technical issues in Plymouth, so the whole programme (including the weather) was for both regions.

The same forecaster did yesterday too, I guess Ian is on holiday as must be David Braine who does Spotlight and occasionally Points West.

Yeah David Braine usually does the Spotlight forecast. I have very occasionally seen Ian do the Spotlight one which was nice.

Much cooler nights than recently back home (am at uni now), min of 4.6c yesterday morning and 4.3c this morning. Yesterday morning was very nice, clear with pure blue sky and very good visibility at last (was at home still then), but since turned hazier again.

A bit late as I haven't posted since then but we had a thunderstorm at home on Friday morning. Initially frequent lightning from a storm to the SSW and another distant one in the channel, averaging every 3 secs at one point, and then more cells developed nearby/overhead. 12.4mm at home but some of the downpours were very localised, William Grimsley is less than a mile west of me and had 31.6mm!

David and Ian are brilliant forecasters. Best in the country.

Meanwhile its been another very pleasant day here in Falmouth. Warm. Been some nice sunsets over the past couple of evenings too. Looks like this dry spell is set to continue for some time yet. Excellent. :D
