Lots of convection and some congestus cloud seen here in NW1 when I popped out for a coffee 20 mins ago. Even had a few spots of splodgy rain. Safe to say I reckon we'll being getting a thunderstorm here this afternoon seeing what's kicking off in Essex right now.

Looks like some storms likely around the capital this afternoon with most of southern England at risk of some slow moving thundery downpours.

The risk fades overnight but looks to erupt again tomorrow. I am unable to post charts until tomorrow as without laptop.

Im surprised to see the line of turkey towers is getting longer and a bit higher. Could do something nearby on the other hand could fade just as easy.

In these setups, my chances normally come closer to 5 or 6pm- which the BBC and MO agree with. They have the elusive thunderstorm icon for here later.

yep we have loads of lightning deep booms of thunder coming from both directions sky gone erri yellow!
