Okay here is a quick clip of a huge bolt whilst I was driving through the storm this morning in Stafford. Watch the clip and then watch it again, but the second time look at the Esso sign and the traffic lights :)

Nice one, Just like a switch!

Reminds me off one time I flew back when I could look through a window. A quiet fly back. I said to my girlfriend no chance as I knew storms were over the channel. Seconds later put your seatbelts on. Given up flying too scary.

That cell that passed west of Manchester had visible lightning here. I noticed the cell, but didn't pay attention to it, assuming it was nothing of note.

Hail isn't freezing rain rather moisture that has been taken up and down within the cloud until it's too heavy to be kept aloft. If you cut one up you'll see layers as too how many times it's been taken up and down.

Here's a video I shot of this mornings lightning

So that's what thunder sounds like!

East Kent is starting to look like a hard place to get any storms, to think we used to get huge imports up from france!

Pah :(

I wouldn't stay up, just looks like post-frontal crud with a lot of radar interference.
