    I hope so too!

it is starting now for cornwall no reason why you wouldn't see anything especially if that front is slowly moving east with cells popping up ahead of the front.

As the sun as gone down, the humidity has risen, not felt the breeze feel so warm in a long time. Clear distinction between a much cloudier, more unstable western sky, vs a clearer east.

Nothing stormy around here apart from my stomach, been back and forth to the hospital the last few days visiting a relative in critical care. Been living on sugar free Red Bull and sweets which contain iso malt having just read the ingredients. All I can say is there's a lot of turbulence in the lower levels, and some violent straight line winds..... lol

Those cells over Cornwall have gone from nothing to thunderstorms in less than 30 minutes according to NW Extra radar! A sign of things to come.

Hello stormgazers from west limerick in ireland - hope you all have some luck tonight and your cousins over here hope to get a few hand me downs lol! been a very strange day here weatherwise - the temp and humidity been up and down like a fiddler's elbow most of the afternoon, now feeling chilly here - I moved here from sunbury in middlesex a few years ago and will be watching the radars, probably feeling a bit homesick - What's your opinions on my chances over here, learned friends if I may ask?

UKWF's take on things as posted on their Facebook page just now.

    "Good evening,

As expected, we already have thunderstorms firing across Cornwall. During the remainder of tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning, further thunderstorms will affect southern coastal areas of England (moving inland), SW England, Bristol channel regions and parts of Wales (possibly extending in to Cheshire).

We expect a mainly elevated display (cloud to cloud discharge and inner cloud).

High rainfall rates may lead to localised flash flooding and large hail is also a risk.

A full update on tomorrows situation will come later this evening.

    Lewis"

Well just to throw a cat amongst the pigeons, the NMM precipitation charts don't resemble the radar at all, at the moment, maybe some surprises!

Wow very fast developments in the south. That's why these are such fun events! Good luck everyone, stay safe. I hope those who are deprived of storms get their fix soon (and those who aren't so keen on the thunder, I hope it all avoids you!)

    Here we go!

Some impressive cg lightning - more than blizortung is showing. Storm appear to be trundling up over Newquay and along the coast to me. Getting darker as I type! Sky certainly looks full of fun for the next few minutes!
