Looks to be going by the book - good call from Captain Shortwave a day or so ago, who highlighted the daily eastwards drift in the models.

NMM showed the majority of the theta-e going up the North sea.

Looks like I will have to be wrong about something else then.

On an unrelated note, there is definitely not a lynchmob coming for me right now due to lack of storms (away from the kent coast)

All eyes on the triple point of that system, the precipitation looks more widespread so maybe more than just the east coast will get hit.

Looks good. But, that rain in the S needs to intensify further for any thunder and lightning to start. I wouldn't mind anything late afternoon. But, not really tonight.

Jeez! The lightning intensity has gone down dramatically. That's my chances over. Just some rain to water the garden. Oh well.

Now where's that triple point headed hmmmm....

Looks like the South East (Kent/Sussex/EA) could be hit by that, can it pep up a little more? I think even I am in with a shout on that one.

I think there's a damn good chance that'll split down the middle... At or close to the second right arrow... So heavy left and right and a more showery event straight up the middle of the Country.. what do you reckon..??

That big gap has Central and most of western UK in it's sites. Looks like the other area of the south west will spin away in a south west direction.

Well strangely enough for the first time in this convective spell, we have isolated Accas here at the mo, however, this cannot amount to anything but I guess it says there is some instability in the atmosphere.

Down South the lightning has dies down further but the precip is creeping slowly West: ignore the stuff N of Rouen, run the animation and look at the hard W edge of the precip cutting the Kent/Sussex coast and, over time, you will see it gradually moving West.

I didn't imagine it after all: just because it was wishful thinking does not (for once) mean it was untrue. Not sure what this means for later with the other stuff following along behind but makes for an interesting night's radar watching for anoraks like me
