Noctilucent Clouds 2014

Early hours of Friday morning gave a display in the NNE sky. First spotted at 2.30am but pictures came out completely black until these a while later 

Those are the same ones I saw, only my view was not as clear! :wink:

The displays of 2009 were the best that I have seen in this country. The 18th June 2009 one was amazing

Nice job too ChillyJuju, considering the display we had down south, wasn't half as spectacular as the one over Birmingham!

At about 11 last night this appeared. Surprised how fast it was moving as it was gone within 15 minutes

I managed to see some last night....never seen them before but then again I haven't really ever looked especially hard for them.

I see them every summer at some point. Their season is coming to an end though.

Noticed a NLC glow to the North around 10-11pm, couldn't see any structure to it however not even with averted vision. Might be worth waiting another 2 hours to see if the 3am twilight brings more luck.

is the season over?

 

i awoke just after 2.30 am this morning  feeling about heartburnified. so i got out of bed ande thought 'nlc's ' ... got a good view northeastward. watched until 3.50.nothing.saw venus rise and aeroplane contrails lit up, but no nlc's.

Sat in my car at an elevated position looking northwest and they still evade me.

Must try harder next season.
