Great that some of you are getting something. Nothing in London in this whole apparant thundery spell. Apart from some April showers, dismal. I wouldn't mind the humidity if it would be put to good use. Raining hard here, wonder if any else could come with it.

Strike just detected south of Hastings (on lightning maps.org).....only 1 but you never know....are we going to get things kicking off?Is disappeared :-(

I'm currently in Hastings and can confirm lightning has been observed along with some deep rumbles of thunder. I'm happy with that !!

Put em in a bowl of cold water.Cools your whole body down as feet are like mini heat exchangers :-)

Massive storm system over northern france and belgium. If it got any bigger, the whole thing would probably start rotating and become a tropical storm or weak hurricane!

Morning, fine and sunny start to the day here. Given the model output, I don't see any rain for the foreseeable future. Thursday and Friday are still looking like being beautiful summer days.

Yes the ECM ops has the HP residing to the west of the UK, a subtle but important difference re. the GFS. A quick peak at the monthly ens means which is suggesting a westerly unsettled flow if you take a peak through the looking glass

Very nice morning here with blue skies, a light breeze, much less humidity and already 19C. This week looking very nice for our region. Slowly getting over my storm-starved depression lol.

I'm still trying to get over my snow -starved depression lol

Lol...us lot haven't had much luck lately have we?! All very boring. So you're an Aussie? Which part are you from? My OH is an Aussie too, from Port Maquarie. He's been glued to the hockey on Sky Sports all weekend....and definitely suffers from Nuclear Foot Syndrome lol. I get in trouble if I dare move the bedcovers near his feet! Edited by stainesbloke

Sunny, with long sunny intervals here, there are bits of cloud amongst the sunny sun, but apart from that it's pretty sunny! 25c in the sun!

Beautiful day in Essex, clear skies with only a few fair weather clouds dotted about. Met office temps have a high of only 22C though it certainly feels much hotter in the sun. Humidity feels a lot lower than yesterday as well so a much nicer day

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
