Not looking half bad on the radar

It was as intense as it looks!

4 rumbles of thunder so far. Last two within the last two minutes, a little more frequent than the first two.

Sun is out now here.

Oh yeh who mock the power of the shield will make it angry and there shall be no more storms for 10 yrs.

Nice to see the Boltek with lightning all over my location rather than elsewhere.

Seems to building up which should be good for Rotherham and places to the North.

Those showers built up just AFTER passing Derby  although the thundery stuff is quite a long way to the north and still cracking off with some very bright radar returns. The risk continues this evening for areas north and slightly east of this line.

I am still planning on chasing tomorrow, lets hope things can develop then (wherever I am).

I am just north and east of Newton in on the east side of wigan, just grey and boring here, but with hazy sun, The usual thing is happening were anything interesting develops to the east of here, then pushes further east into yorkshire,  who would have thought

*sulks back off to the no storms club*

Interestingly as the storm moved away to the north it decayed whilst merging with the showers that backbuilt from it over Derby and Notts. So now we have heavy rain again and occasional rumbles of thunder.

The clouds have mated together to keep us in the storm :D

For a last ditch hope, the shower over NE Wales could develop over the next hour.

Unfortunately, I expect that to diminish to a drizzly shower or fizzle completely once it passes over the Mersey basin ,

Well eastern Sheffield will be happy. Pretty good storm that way will it manage to build back here. Rain getting heavier again skies darker as well.

There are a few ongoing thunderstorms to the north and east of my location, I can see them out of my window. Will I finally get my first thunderstorm of the year today? Probably not...

Dying out here at the moment. Although not a strong storm here one of the longest for many a year. 12.8mm of rain which isn't tremendous but wettest day of the month.
