South East England & East Anglia Regional Weather Discussion 28/03/14

Recommended Posts

Morning all,

cloudy and very murky this morning but mild at 12c, very high pollution levels for the next couple of days.

That's putting it mildly compared to the Daily Excess headline :  "DEADLY POLLUTION WARNING FOR NEXT 24 HOURS"...

https://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/468085/Return-of-the-KILLER-SMOG-Worst-pollution-in-60-YEARS-to-strike-Britain-TOMORROW

The "KILLER-SMOG" is here Posted Image

......I can just about see it though my Saharan dust covered windows, so I won't  be going outside today not because I think I might die but because I won't be able to resist saying 'I told you so' to my neighbour who washed his car yesterday only for it to be covered in sand again this morning (I did tell him not to bother for a couple more days but some people just don't listen Posted Image )

Pollution levels will be high for parts of England and Wales, but not quite to the extreme extent that the media are portraying......

http://rtlec.co.uk/killer-smog-coming-your-way-and-the-government-doesnt-want-you-to-know/

The very young and elderly, and especially people with respiratory and heart problems should take care, and if you use an inhaler then you need to make sure you have it with you but for the majority of people the poor air quality will have little effect as this is a short lived event with pollution levels decreasing from tomorrow!

The DEFRA website has the latest information on air quality –

It was in Northern Chilie Grace - you can read all about it here.....

This might be more 'in your back yard' though if your lucky.....

Dank is the best word I can use to describe it here, I don't think anywhere East of the Meridian will get anything worthwhile, may rain but I doubt even that

I know it's not really weather related but as your such a lovely bunch of people and this mouse was lost in Essex let's see if we can help him get home, he must be really missing his human companion....

Bright white skies and 18.9c. Can still see the car so the killer smog sandstorm hell hasn't yet descended on us fully.

who would have thought that the only 'blowing and drifting' we were going to see in the region was sand and not snow...can we start a sand depth cup? Posted Image

Afternoon all

Not such a bright day here, dry and dusty at present and a bit more of a breeze but still quite mild so not bad really.  A small job out to do, sould take only a few minutes then I should get the evening free to do what I want (nothing planned yet, but two nights of less sleep means I am feeling tired so it will not be anything major)

Hope your all well and having a good day and no one is suffering from the smog in the area.

Just back from a quick trip to the library took back Hunger Games two DVD and result, Enders Game has just arrived :)

Whilst not feeling cold out it is not as warm either, and still "spotting" with rain, wall to wall gloom and cloud right now.

Evening :)

Up to 19c here today but much duller than yesterday, some sun though so not all bad.

Would be nice to see a storm but the radar isn't looking promising!
