Morning all. :) Quite sunny here - a too good to last type of day. Off for a two hour walk now, hopefully finished by the time of the afternoon showers... Enjoy your weekend, whatever you're doing. :)

Oh well, the walk dogs didn't quite go to plan (my fault) hence my pics for today (left and right footwear)post-11059-0-38737600-1395500636_thumb.jpost-11059-0-14439700-1395500685_thumb.j

nice pics Daniel :)

so today i have vacuumed, washed, dusted, shopped, dried laundry, folded, dog walked and tidied up. is it the weekend yet?

chilly day today, walking dog was nice though. dry apart form a very brief hail shower and sunny too. tried to get a look down to the river as i heard a very loud fog horn earlier, but there is so much developement of buildings now blocking my view, i can hardly see the thames :(

currently 10C and bright sunny weather. bit of a chilly NW breeze taking the temp down if out of the direct sun.

hope you are all having a good day (my daughter is after a 6-0 win!) :)

Crack of thunder heard in Kensal Green just now. Looks like central London might be about to get a drenching.

The sky went a delicate shade of dark green and the hail/ snow mix began.....huge hailstones bouncing around in the squally wind.

It's the most exciting wintry mix all year!

Haha that brings back happy memories of a very muddy walk we shared - did you have to leave the muddy boots outside the pub again ?

Hey welcome to the Forum Liam :good:Yes looked mightily impressive, the quick transition was spectacular. I reckon there was some turbulence, the milk has probaly turned to butter up there, i do love how things can abruptly change and change the whole ambience.

As darkness starts to draw in the latest shower has just drifted pass to the north of me again into Essex, caught the sunset quite nicely as it continued to drift east.

Probably the one I'm looking at from the North - just posted some pics of it from my location on the convective thread. Looks like it's decaying rapidly now though.

Hello all, lovely cloudscapes on here today, here's one I took up on the Beacon this afternoon and one I took of the Anish Kapoor sculpture, the c-curve mirror, exhibited on the downs by the chatri afew years ago. The clouds that day were amazing too, reflected in the mirror.

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

tonight

Posted Image

winds veering to a more north westerly overnight

temps

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

after midnight temps will be going down

precipitation

Posted Image

according to ukmo it is showing dry

however the fax has a trough crossing us in the early hours of the morning

so if it clears cloudwise expect a frost

if you get precipitation you may see something wintry ( but would be a late night if you wait up)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow

Posted Image

after any morning showers clear

we get a cold north west wind and will be breezy

rainfall

Posted Image

it looks like there may be some local showers in the afternoon

but i am running with the fax and call it dry

temps

Posted Image

again around 6-8 degrees (if you keep cloudcover it may register lower than these figures)

will feel chilly though in the wind

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow night

Posted Image

a weak north west flow

rainfall

Posted Image

maybe a very light shower but overall mainly dry

temps

Posted Image

looks a cold one

expect a frost in most areas

also fog may be an issue overnight too

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

monday

Posted Image

a very weak south westerly flow

rainfall

Posted Image

thankfully it should stay dry all day

rain is incoming though

temps

Posted Image

around 8-10 degrees

south coast may be cloud prone today which is likely to tag temps slightly down

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

monday night

Posted Image

winds south westerly but will veer back north westerly later

rainfall

Posted Image

as we get past midnight heavy rain on the way and will be heavy in places

temps

Posted Image

close to a frost but will warm up when the rain arrives

will still be a cold night even when the rain arrives

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tuesday

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

very wet

cold

windy

yukPosted Image

Thank you for the informative update Mr P, as always.   It has indeed dropped significantly here, currently at 2.1 c, so fire still lit and pleasantly glowing.  A bit of respite in the garden tomorrow will be good in-between the other stuff.

Well - I think I may win the snow cup this year as I saw actual, real life snow flakes this morning!

It hailed heavily around 10am which then eased off slightly to wet flakes! I was rather excited which is a sad state of affairs all round but as they are the only the second flakes I've seen in a year (it sleeted briefly last month very late at night) I felt my excitement was justified

Sadly no pictures so I probably forfeit this entry...sigh.

Im exhausted, night all :) - stunning photo's yet again, feels like I've stumbled into The National Gallery :p It really brightens my day, so a special thank you to those that make the effort to add some visual beauty to the forum :good:

a cold 3.7c here - any ppn could turn wintery as we progress through the night, as Mr Pike alluded.

Hehe. Nowhere near as bad as that, but the possibilities were way worse. (I fell onto barbed wire fencing, at the same time as I fell in the mud; I grabbed it with my right hand and cut myself in a few places, but it's done now - as I said, my fault only  )

Tbh I'm intrigued as to why my original message mentioned 'dogs' - most likely I messed up using my tablet, but as I was stone cold sober when I posted, I'm wondering how it happened. Oh well, somewhat Happy Days!

I must admit this regional thread seems to have been the No. 1 hotspot for fab convective sky pics today. :p
