As Mapantz says others have been reported closer inshore, in fact my father believed he saw one breaching along the same time that the GWS was reported off Padstow some ten years ago or so. The only thing that attracted his eye at the time was a lot of gulls encircling the area, quite a bit offshore but still visible via binoculars. In time, the warmer oceans will bring them in along with all the other gulf stream driven species. Mako sharks aren't that rare either and they are also big blighters.

A member of the Great White Porbeagles can get pretty hefty. And the dear old Basking get's to a fair old size.

Well it's taken until midday but the sun is now burning off the fog in readiness for a sunny afternoon (I hope). There had been a frost first thing and the fog was particularly dense between 06.30-08.00 .

Glorious! 12.1c with almost clear blue sky and some Cirrus! Have mowed the lawn for the first time this year as well as sat outside for over an hour.

Spent a happy hour on Chesil Beach at West Bexington this afternoon.  It was glorious, warm, sunny, hardly a breath of air and the sea was like a mill pond.  Hard to imagine how it was during the storms when the sea and the wind were wreaking havoc with the shape of the beach.

A foggy start to the morning, currently 3.1°C.

It's well to tell we have lacked fog this winter as people cannot understand how to drive in it, with folks driving (visibility less than 60mtrs) with no lights on at all.

Thick mist here first thing and quickly burned off  to give a glorious morning.  Sawn and chopped a load more firewood as we were getting low - the weather I love for such 'active' tasks!

Another cloudy cold day here.

It's felt colder these last few days than it has for the last few months.

Could really do with the sun breaking through

I had the bright idea of popping over to the north cliffs and maybe getting an interesting photo of the sun and cliffs as the fog dissipated. Another brilliant idea as the fog got thicker and I had a problem finding the path off the cliff.

Yes better here today but its been cool and cloudy more often than not this week. I can see the extension of this DRY spell lasting another seven days yet, with any breakdown in deep FI as ever. Keep it coming I say with perhaps more sunshine on offer for more of us.
