Clawing at my screen in desperation as it would be a first direct hit in a fair while...

 

....but I think lightning activity is calming somewhat now, going by the radar.

nice little storm....elevated in nature with some bright flashes of lightning and around 20 rumbles, 2 of which were almost overhead. This little complex is maintaining strength and trundling westwards towards Bristol....Radar shows more thundery rain developing over the south east with embedded sferics

Yep haha! All lightning activity seemed to drop dead as it approached Bristol....nothing new there!

There's just plain old drizzle here, quite a difference in the forecast today, not as wet as it was initially forecasted to be.

Yes Mapantz,im a bit more north of you,but based on daily forecasts from the last few days I treated 10 big lawns yesterday on the basis that todays rain would nicely wash the product in,nervously looking at the sky after a short burst of drizzle,not enough,might have to consider watering lol after the winter weve just come through.

Some very bright echoes (white) approaching my location from the east. Is it just torrential rain or an embedded thunderstorm?

Yep I can confirm a Thunder day here in Newbury from earlier, the seventh of the year in fact. Black as night as the squall hits here, biblical rainfall as I type this, can hardly see what I'm typing without the lights on. No more Thunder yet!

Had a nice storm in Swindon at about 11:30 this morning. Frequent lightning and loud thunder, torrential rain, but it only lasted about 20 minutes. Probably the best one since last summer.

 

Looks like we may catch the tail end of that very nasty looking squall coming up from the south in the next hour or so too.

Well that was a fun hour of torrential rain, finished off by a bright flash and loud rumble around 17.00 (in Westbury not Warminster).

 

Now clearing as sunset approaches with blue sky gradually spreading from the E/SE.

Glorious after yesterday's needed rain. My newly aspirated Netatmo station is reading exactly the same as my Davis now, currently 16.2℃

I see Bournemouth's station is offline, it was reading 44℃ yesterday. :lol:
