A light showery, 2mm of rain, yesterday afternoon.

Was expecting more today, but so far just grey and dry, but only 13c.

Radar was showing quite a bit passing over earlier this morning, but we seemed to have escaped it for now.

Friday a wet washout. Saturday going the same mucky way.

Yuk. Sun would be more than welcome after 2 grotty days.

Same drizzly gunk as yesterday morning, it was clear for a short while around 2am before the cloud and rain rolled back in.

A summary of this month:

"3 fine days and a thunderstorm, plus an awful lot of rubbish"

Two years ago today (at least in terms of the bank holiday Saturday) 28c and sunny, the hottest day of the year.

Suffice to say that will not happen today, the rain has just started, will push through or will it pivot, probably the latter.

Its been a dry day here, and sun has made an appearance. up to 15c

Weather forecasts for us late last night were for a showery washout today, wrong so far.

Atrocious day, the type only a Bank Holiday weekend could produce, a lot like that god awful one 2 years ago.

Charts seem to be gradually backing off the washout Monday again though now keeping the rain over the South East, 06z a pleasant 19/20c over West Mids with sunny spells, hopefully a last minute glimmer of hope!!

Failed forecasts for here, yet again! Supposed to be wet most of the day but it cleared off at 9am and it has been dry and bright ever since.

Absolutely hammered it down about 10 minutes ago, it's calmed down a bit now - but still raining.

It's Been a very wet morning and as you've mentioned "still raining" looking at the radar a good hour or so to go yet!

Then it may turn interesting around tea time with potentially heavy thundery showers to contend with.

Not a bad day if you like the wet stuff :)

Rain all morning some heavy and quite cool.As bad as forecasted unfortunately.

A large band of rain now over Wales, parts of the south west,Midlands going into N.England but slow moving.

The back edge to this main band now cleared the SE -i would think some quite large rainfall amounts for some of us before the day is out.

Looking somewhat better tomorrow although still some showers about as the low fills only slowly. The brightest conditions coming into the east of our area by the afternoon where it looks mainly dry later.

Temps maybe up to 15-16C in some spots. Not great but feeling better than the last 2 days that's for sure.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for BH Monday.

Some showers still showing up but more scattered.

A heavier band of rain coming into SE England by evening on the 06Z model so not a washout.

Temperatures around 17-19C quite widely across the region so in any sunshine it should feel much warmer.

Certainly no promise of any dry days in the coming week by the looks of the latest runs.

2007 and 2008 were very unsettled as I remember. May 27th both years were horrendous with 27mm rain in 2007 and 34mm in 2008 and maxes below 12C (in Yatton anyway). At least it then improved for the remainder of the week in 2007 whereas the final week of 2008 was just dull and wet.

Currently [14:59] drifting (left) past my window ... so, I'm guessing that's towards Tamworth (so North)

May 2010 around this time was one of the best weekend's I can remember for stunning, hot weather. Crystal clear skies all weekend and highs of 27c.

Still lashing it down here, looks like changing over to showers in around an hour though.

Been raining for getting on for 4 hours here... Looks like the rain band has been pivoting over us, hence keeping the rain with us for the whole afternoon so far, and it doesn't look like it's moving far!

A spell of moderate rain late this morning and early afternoon but none of the heavy rain, most of which seemed to pass well to the east of here towards Chesterfield, Warsop and Sheffield.

A light shower falling at the moment but I remain tentatively hopeful that something interesting will develop during the remainder of the afternoon .

Local fields around me beginning to adopt their winter 2013/14 look again...waterlogged!

The next grass cut won't be anytime soon without some dry warm weather.
