Looks a good line up through Bristol in the current scheme of things, if it keeps it's intensity. Aside from that, nice developments south of Bournemouth. Who know's what can happen, though, with the potential energy in the atmosphere. This might just be the aperitif.

Chaos theory? Just goes to show these kind of developments are incredibly tricky to model. It's very much about radar watching and real-time developments with such energy around. Or maybe the Euro4 is crap lol

Real bright flashes south of Bristol now and distant rumbles. Even if it doesn't kick off big time overhead, it's still beautiful to see the night time sky lit up.

Wow, where did these cells come from? It's been crazy here for about 30 minutes, amazing lightning and thunder that made the house shake. there were times when there were multiple forks going across the clouds, quite incredible - this was interspersed with torrential rain, but it's just faded away in the last few minutes. will post some film hopefully tomorrow, although it never seems as good as the naked eye!

Hey Adzyy and Bojangle (great John Holt tune btw), we live for each and every strike so us bigging up a flash of lightning or rumble of thunder might well be over-played lol. The current stuff is East of SE Wales so you'll probs only see flashes in the sky if you have a view this way. For Rugby, there is stuff headed up your way in the next hour or so, I'd say. Might not be storm of the century, but like I said - a flash is the sky is all it takes!

Anyone got an idea of when Rugby is likely to get hit?

Its hard to pinpoint anywhere really and more so what time, the best thing i could say at this stage is keep an eye on this http://www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile

and this http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en

Watching the radar, the cells are just forming in the channel off the Dorset coast and just heading north!

I think there could be some more action, but looking more towards Bournemouth and due north.....

Bit of a warm up there with tonight's first storm. Seemed to brush to my east. A lot more to come it seems.

Been watching the Bournemouth webcam & it's clear there is far more lightning than is being picked up on the lightning detectors.

Nice fireworks show going off here to my South/ South East and the GREENEST lightning flash I've ever seen - what's that all about?

Edit: OMG Zephyr just saw the same thing!

Hmm..wonder if like last night the Black Country is acting as a storm killer. We either spawn them or kill them! At least we're getting to see them before they die. Bit pants for those north of us though.
