After a fine start to the day with a little Ac and small Cu it's been downhill all the way. An ever thickening layer of Ac with large cu giving some very heavy showers.

Persistent heavy rain here now, and feeling cool. Hopefully this will move through quickly so I can take the new car for a spin in the dry!

Goodness a torrential storm has erupted over the Northern part of Salisbury Plain and is very close to Devizes (is lfcdude around?). Pink on the radar so quite possibly hail too with very recent lightning. It is almost stationary and has developed very quickly.

Sharp shower here and clouds developing all around with no directional movement obvious.

Heavy/torrential showers keep missing here by about a mile this afternoon with just light or moderate rain at times here, and another one is doing so now

Calm winds so in a way a nice a nice atmosphere watching the showers drift by or with rain drops falling gently down earlier.

Storm about to hit Coventry (see Convective thread for webcam links)

Just got back from Lutterworth, Leics about an hour ago, driving back up the M69-M6 Skies where black as the aces of spades, but weird...  no rain and no electrical activity.

Edit;  In general it was a nice day in Lutterworth, Leicester, can't say for Leics but at home in Solihull max out at 20.3c, and for tomorrow, it looks pretty similar :)

No it never really happened, the sferics died out, report of thunder at Leamington on another forum though.

Don't usually post on here in the summer as I'm a big fan of storms/ snow, but wow- the torrential shower we've just had in west Newport was out of this world! Twenty minutes or so, and it turned my road into a river. Quite something! Anyone else get hit by the same one recently?

Some intense downpours around since late morning. I got soaked to the skin working outside in Trowbridge when what looked an innocuous cloud became a downpour in less than 10 minutes!

Black sky covering the western and northern sky. Only spots here so far but looks threatening and on the radar too. Hopefully some sferics soon.

Continuous moderate rain here for the last hour but a couple of miles to the south there was half an hour of heavy/ very heavy rain, preceded by scattered hail stones about 6-7 mm in diameter.

It looked very dark and threatening to the north west for a while but no thunder heard.
