Winds continue to strengthen here - lights are flickering. Very unpleasant..

What a wild winter this is turning into.. heavy snow on higher roads expected as well just to add to the misery.

Worst gusts here atm, just went to put bins out and whole length of back fence blew over and a tree down across road....not strong constant wind but biggish gusts....

Had to put the drinking on hold and put out the fire as the smoke from the wood fire blew back down the chimney and filled the house.

Trees are down and the house is now shaking. Just thinking that somethings got to give before long if it keeps up.

Always have this problem with mine when it's windy, I crack a window to create a draw.

Just a typical windy day here, seems further south of the region has had it worse.

Still blowing wildly here although the gusts arent as bad. In the next hour hopefully it will ease. Still hearing crashing and banging outside !!

I have to say, I have seen much worse, we've been sheltered here, and therefore have been spared the worst of the winds. I would say this storm contained winds that I would not include even in the top 50 of wind events I may have experienced in my lifetime, but we weren't in the red zone, and that was a good call from the Met-Office in my opinion.

Here we seems to have actually avoided it, I only recorded a gust of 44mph.

Winds picked up loads, probably gusting 65/70 mph now

SP - definitely bad here in Wallasey village . My house faces the sea with nothing inbetween so we have been hammered. My conservatory roof is leaking too

Oh no Julie 253 thats awful. I feel the winds here were more than 45 mph. They have died down a bit now thank god but still gusting. Someone out the back of me has left a dog out in this. How cruel !!!!!!
