Dew point's still way too high, can't see them dropping to the required levels until just before dawn tomorrow.

Have to agree as dew point here is currently 6c

For this locale as we enter the final month of Winter we've had:

3 days of falling snow

0 days of lying snow

We just wish we build the world's biggest windfarm in Russia just to get a Easterly or Better still in Greenland we get a North-Westerly. It will blow any Atlantic weather away and we may call this Operation Snow Machine or Operation General Winter. I'm guessing this project will cost trillions of £s. lol. Snow is highly unlikely tomorrow except over northern parts of the region (Cumbria)

To be honest considering we are likely to have some really beefy winds tomorrow, I'm surprised the talk is of snow.

At last I have a snow statistic for this winter - 1 day of falling snow and 1 day of lying snow.. can I make it two in a row... Cumbria could do well first things tomorrow morning - dewpoints will be right side of marginal for places with a bit if heights. The fells will keep there deep winter cloak, but definitely a day to stay away from them, with severe gales expected and windchill down to a bone biting -15 degrees with whiteout conditions.. positively arctic..

Cars iced up this morning and a bit slippy underfoot but temperature is at 0.6c so still waiting for the first sub 0c of 2014.

Not overly optimistic for snow either, maybe a bit of sleety stuff as the start like yesterday but yet again it looks like wet and wind are going to be the problems.

We've had one or two light snow showers in the past half hour - proper snow, not the wet stuff we had yesterday, but alas very shortlived. Still that makes 2 days now of snow falling this season.

There looks to be a proper heavier band moving off the Irish coast which should hit us in about 2 hours - this could produce some heavier longer lasting snow, but it will turn to rain eventually and any snow this afternoon will be confined to higher ground. Will be interesting to see what happens later this morning.

The next few days show the 528dam air playing around with us - proof how cold the air coming out of Canada is, not often do we get snow from a westerly...

That was a proper snow shower, didn't quite stick though. Trip up the fells tomorrow I think, once this wind dies down.

Yes and hopefully a bit more to come later this morning. The sun is actually out now with blue sky - very pleasing to see.

No definitely not a day to be out on the fells, with storm force gusts predicted resulting in wind chill below -15 degrees at 900m, whiteout conditions and deep powder snow and ice everywhere.

Tomorrow should be a bit better - but still very windy I imagine with low cloud on highest tops.. still if you need a snow fix then make the most of it, the Lakeland fells are in full winter condition for the first time this season. February and March are always the best months for winter conditions in the Lake District, the snow has had time to consolidate, less likely to see gales, its much lighter than Dec and Jan and we are more likely to see high pressure exert its influence.

Gorgeous start to the day, early crispy frost, now sunny skies....hard to imagine it's all downhill in a couple of hours.  Not expecting any snow to be honest, maybe wet sleet to begin with but windy and wet for the second half of the day.

Amazed to see that there is still frost on the ground, the wind has now increased dramatically since early this morning and the wind chill is freezing my fingers off.  That's it chickens all mucked out and some of the ditches cleaned ready for the next onslaught, now back inside to defrost my poor blue chilblained toes and wait for the first flakes!!

Rain last night, no frost (as per usual), but it's getting windier now, and cloudier.

Starting spitting here now. If we see any heavier stuff it should turn wintry. Its called evaporative cooling.
