A good Idea I think to start a thread dedicated for posting and discussing weather tweets and other any posts / updates you may come across from Facebook

@Hudsonweather: Next week looks colder than average, low pressure in charge too. Expect a messy mix of rain, sleet & even some snow at times, mainly hills.

    Few tweets from Ian Fergusson

latest assessment suggests low risk any disruptive snow by midweek. Strongest signal uplands Midlands N'ward. Muted signal in S.

however, PPN detail through Mon-Weds has low confidence. We'll focus more on it all once past more pressing issue: Sunday's rain.

Don't get too distracted by talk of cold and possible uk snow next week when of greater concern is more rain this weekend and next week.

    • Heat ebbing and flowing as thunderstorms brew for the second half of the week

For the UK as a whole, the heat and sunshine will peak today (Sunday). But hot, humid weather will still have big a part to play next week, even as cooler, fresher air tries to move down from the northwest. And that combination could result in fireworks. Read the full update here

Analysis: Heat this weekend before a breakdown next week

A strong ridge of high pressure building in from the Azores this weekend will culminate in very warm or hot Sunday, but gradually cooling off next week and turning increasingly unsettled from mid-week. View the full blog here
