Showers starting to build across Wales now. It's a bit early yet though.

As for the week ahead, as I keep saying, keeping feet firmly on the ground and listening to the professionals...but...having said that....I think the best appraoch this week will be one day at a time.

Not expecting much this week, may well see a bit of snow but little if anything accumulating, slush and yet more puddles more likely!

My one hope was a slider of stalling front on Friday bringing snow, but odds on that appear to be steadily reducing.

looking at some of the maps available , it looks like an area of precipitation , probably showers moving through wales into the mids by 03.00 and virtually covering the entire midlands by 06.00 moving on out into the sea during the day.

850's look good , dew points marginal though,

interestingly tho, bbc site showing heavy snow for my postcode , just need to work out how to post images now!!

The meto site does show snow at 3am and 1c, but then rain and 3c at 6am, so tonight is unlikely to amount to much.

Seems to have got warmer in last hour as wind picked up, will be hard pressed to get anything wintry tonight at this rate. Even if uppers play ball nothing is going to lie if temps at ground level refuse to fall below 1-3C....

Good chance of seeing falling sleet/snow, slim chance of any lying snow though.

Could remind me of the early hours of 14th Jan this year, saw cars with snow on, must have been coming from Cannock or places with higher elevation, can say I did very likely get wet non lying snow that night

half expect the same tomorrow, no snow on cars here, but cars with snow on them driving north west up the A34

Light snow flurries through here over the past half hour. All snow too...no rain.

yep was snow flurries here as well,  however clear now and quite cold.  Might get a slight covering tonight.

Indeed, a few more incoming according to the radar but nothing that's going to be overly exciting. A second dusting of the winter would be amazing compared to how the country is doing for snow as a whole. Makes me a bit sad but this is the best we have right now.
