Radar watching shows the rain continually coming into the range of the radar with no end in the last hour or so. Heavy and widespread. So assuming it's going to continue North East, yeah the whole South East gets hit. I would have said a line from Southampton to Norwich but now there's a rather bright (heavy) strip of precip coming in just North West of the main rainfall too.

Looking at the track and direction preceeding it I may just be on the edge of that, but which side ? Posted Image

Blimey!  Never seen it like that before myself.

As long a Ye Ole Fighting Cocks stays dry all will be well (which it should)

Yes, the pub should be fine, as the river is relatively low at that point compared to the rest of it (Despite some of the path outside the pub falling into the river!)

Oh so that blob is pretty much it.

Wonder how much follows on later in the night?

I would not really call it a blob Steve, Here is HD radar image live. It is a much bigger scale precip pattern and i believe will increase and intensify as it hits .

Not sure you have the track exactly right with that image. I can't see the bulk of the rain getting much further north than mid Essex.....may be wrong though. My part of the world is yet to see much in the way of rain! The river in my village hasn't over topped yet, and it usually does now at least half a dozen times a year.

Just seen the Forecast on Look East, nice to actually see a forecast on TV with your own eyes showing after tomorrow an end (for now) of this wretched weather.

Its obviously a small world then from one end of the town to anotherPosted Image

I think the squall line was fairly narrow on the coastal edge wasn't it? By the time it got here it was a couple of minutes of hail and then about a further ten minutes of rain. Nothing out of the ordinary though!

Currently in the process of getting into a savoury homemade Cottage Pie mood for dinner a little later Posted Image]

Thanks Tams :-) and by coincidence I've got one in the oven here too (cottage pie that is) it will be ready when mr P gets in from playing badminton !

Is she an old girl ?

Thanks Shotski - she's 8 so I guess it's an age thing although she acts like a puppy - so far tonight we have played with 3 different toys and she's had bubbles (the ones kids blow - she loves chasing them ) lol Edited by MKsnowangel

Spoke to EA earlier - they said they are holding off putting us on flood warning again tonight until there is more certainty on exactly where this will land. Earlier on today, the feeling was it would be mostly up the Channel....however if it comes further north which is now looking more likely .........Posted ImagePosted Image

So I'm relying on all you lovely ladies and gentlemen of this forum to keep the updates and predictions going over the coming hours - you're so accurate with direction and timings I normally get a two hour jump on the EA warnings.Posted ImagePosted Image

Edit - great to hear the good news about Shotski MK - Posted Image

More rain for SE tonight but then we should be in for 3/4 dryish daus thank god. Then early next week looks like Winter may get its act together.Looks Marginal for us in SE in terms of snow but trends for cold are getting better. If Heights over Scandi keep pushing Northwards I think that will improve our chances in SE down the line.Is that how you read it JP as you are "the man" when it comes to reading the charts!!

Posted the same in the MAD thread, going to get my head bitten off most likely, asked whether the pressure chart showed a scandi high, which I'm 90% sure was a silly question, lol
