Well it does state "Mad but friendly with it" on your profile. Posted Image Posted Image

Well those who know me would verify it.

Awful day today. Had to go off to Exeter to buy birthday presents for my son otherwise I would gladly have stayed home today. Really sick of yet more rain and wind

Hey guess what all. It is raining... What a surprise! .... I am being sarcastic by the way in case any of you were geniunely believing I was surprise.

But it may not be all doom and gloom as rumour has it we may have some colder spells... Briefly for a day occasionally followed by yes you guessed it rain! Oh well at least the bulbs wish to come out to brighten us up.

Rain has moved through here, showers following on behind.  We do have some heavy showers to contend with tomorrow, especially across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire.  Risk of hail and thunder in the strongest cells, and rapid accumulation of rainfall is likely to lead to some localised flooding.  Strongest EL signal is towards the far South West and immediately along the coast with -30/-40oC, thus here a slightly higher risk of lightning associated with convection.

Note, unlike recent convection ie. last few weeks, Monday will be less intense and severe due to weaker kinematic environment and general lower wind-shear.  The jet isn't ideally placed to offer assistance in organisation.  Nevertheless, a combination of rapid cooling aloft, lowering geo-potential thickness, a warmer BL and warm surrounding SST(s) around coastline, will be ideal to promote steepening mid-level lapse rates and heavy shower formation.

Had a very heavy downpour just over an hour ago here in Falmouth and the radar agrees. Was very nasty, lashing against the windows and must have contained some hail I think.

More heavy rain is on its way to Exeter and the rest of Devon until Tuesday, forecasters have warned.

Heavy rain began to fall at midday on Sunday. It is predicted to last throughout the afternoon and into the early evening before dying away, according to the Met Office. There will also be strong gusts of winds and the afternoon will feel stormy. Gusts could reach more than 30mph. It is likely to remain dry overnight and into Monday morning, before more heavy rain is predicted throughout the day.

Although the land is still saturated from weeks of heavy downpours, there are no weather warnings issued and further flooding is not thought likely.

It was a beautiful morning to be out and about working, cold enough to make you realise it's winter but not quite low enough to make the wet ground slippery which I was grateful for. The sunshine felt very pleasant mid morning and has returned now after a few heavy showers between 11.30-12.30 . In fact it's a clean convective day so plenty of stunning cloudscapes to admire amongst the blue sky, 6.6c at present.

What a busy weekend, fishing .. For no fish! :p

It was glorious on Saturday for it, the beach was a lot different since all the stormy weather, thousands of tons of sand vanished in one part, further down it had all built up, rivers of brackish water coming from the heathland and carving out canyons on the beach.

Currently 9C with a few hefty showers about and more to come by the looks of it..

Why give up all hope for this Winter? 08/09 was an unwintry winter until February the there was a week with 3 major snowfalls.

Any chance of wintriness tonight as the trough crosses W-E? Temps dropping to 2.9c now and a line of showers to the West, potential for The Mendips and Salisbury Plain.
