This is close as we can get to the burns day storm I think. Truly amazed by this one and winds are def still increasing here. I have a feeling there is an awful lot left in this yet.

I hope not, trying to keep my shed roof where it is atm

Local river is overflowing the ford, quite common for it to that during excessive rainfall but it's now the deepest it's been for many years.

Greatly reduced electricity. Many things not working, lights dim like a candle..

Gradually loosing electricity, lights so dim now. Fading like old battery. Only thing working is the internet (amazing). This may be be my last post for the night.

Slowley slipping away ... byeeeeee e e e   e e   ..

Think we are going to loose our conservatory roof! The wind is whipping round the bungalow :( now I think it was a really bad idea moving to a detatched on the cliff tops :/

Whilst the wind gusts are not really out of the ordinary for many of us in our region, it's the sheer duration of this storm that is noteworthy. Apart from a brief lull here earlier this evening the wind has been howling here for over 12 hours now.

Worse in Kent and Sussex

No idea whats happening out there because the council switch the lights off, you would have though during severe events, they'd leave them on (especially snow) but noooooooooo....

Yep.That will bring the heaviest rain and strongest winds this morning. Probably in the next couple of hours. Will only be brief but will pack a punch!

If you are a bit nervous....perhaps baby is reacting to that. Or....he/she is a future member of Netweather. :D

omg really strong gust knocked something on the roof.Reports of windows being blown in on twitter. Also the entire window flexed in the frame and went bang.

i was going to try to sleep but maybe i'll stay up with you lot a bit longer.

Getting a bit worried about Smokey and Benny sleeping downstairs in this. But if I bring them up here they won't settle away from their usual rest places.

I hope you've at least given that poor caterpillar some shandy and a mince pie.

Lol. It can have a sip of me plonk and be happy with that. It's a bit too windy to go looking for leaves. :D
